    dimensions in cm - Width 48 x Depth 54 x Height 59/80 (80 to tip of lever)
About the same size as my current machine.
At 59cm in height, about 6cm taller, but would still fit no problems in our kitchen.
Can you pull shots just as quickly as in a HX machine?

I reckon its about the same, I save on some elements like not flushing the group, but the 10sec preinfusion adds a little time (10secs actually!). The clean up is quicker too.

I have no problem making back to back coffees, but then I weigh each dose of beans into the grinder so my method is much slower than a cafe. I have pulled up to 10 shots back to back without feeling it was any great effort.

Shot pulling on a lever is a touch slower than on a modern double boiler or hx. If you knock out the PF to quickly after the shot it can get a little messy as there is a little pressure behind the puck.

On a single group I reckon you could still punch out 40ish milk drinks an hour (one drink/shot). On my 3 group I have run 400 coffees plus in 6 hours with 2 of us running the machine most of the time. If you are being stingy and using single shots per cup the rate would go up.

            No Walsh,

It just seems to be a while since they updated their website...

My new one is on the way too. Im going 2 group red as I liked the colour of Galumays so much...

The Faema will go into mothballs for a home kitchen someday...

Think I prefer the stainless one.

While it might have preceded the plastic sided one my understanding of the differences between them are just the sides and the PID. It seems that elsewhere in the world the S/Steel one is still preferred and available.

Due to the nature of the heads on the Izzo the PID I apart from doing away with the Pstat contacts is of limited value as there is a whole hunk of metal to cool or heat to achieve thermal equilibrium. So if you want to make a change make it and walk away for 15 minutes would be my guess.

The only reason the SS one is available in the US is because they are holding old stock of the old model. The importer in the US hasnt bought any in for quite a while, (i talked to him prior to buying mine), and thats why he only has the SS pre PID model.

While I agree the PID is not a deal breaker, its very nice to be able to dial in different temps very quickly to determine the best temp to extract a particular coffee at. Given the consistency and ease of use of the big spring lever its something I play round with that I would never bother with on a HX or if it involved pulling the covers off to get at a pressurestat.

Finally, althought the swooshy side covers are coloured, there is still about 10 times the amount of shiny stainless and chrome compared to your average home espresso machine!

Personally, I love the Red one too.... :-*

Adds even additional character to an already gorgeous machine. If we had the space, I would definitely have bought one..... 8-)

My understanding based on my reading of HB earlier this year is that the Pompei was only new to Chris Coffee as of Feb this year. From that and based on the PID version being availabler in Oz last year from a few places I would think thay had asked to have them made to that spec rather than the newer one. If that was a style or $$ choice is another matter I guess.

Shiny Shiny Bling Bling for both anyway 8-)
