In the first pic, is the blue line the inlet to the filter or the out let to the coffee machine?

Aah, sorry about my photography! It is a crappy shot of the filter, under the sink. Yeah. The blue is going into the filter, the white comes out, running under the floor to the other side of the kitchen where my coffee realm is.Originally posted by Sink_cut View PostIn the first pic, is the blue line the inlet to the filter or the out let to the coffee machine?
There is a handy tap that came with the filter for drinking water that sits on the sink. An bonus byproduct of requiring the water filtration.

Before the filter.Originally posted by Sink_cut View PostThanks again SBM
So is that white pipe 3/8? Or 1/2?
And - where is your pressure reducing valve? Is it between the filter and the machine? Or before the filter?
Thanks
cant make out the size of the white pipe, but I'll try tomorrow. Better photos too... I'll try.

I notice that the Izzo has a huge 5L boiler... My brewtus boiler is only 1.5 L and I notice the water coming out of it tastes funny unless I flush it a lot. I can only imagine a 5 l boiler would make this worse. Do any Izzo lever owners notice Stale or metallic tasting brew water?

Neither any of ours. FWIW, I drain our Valchiria after use each Saturday and if our Alex Leva demo has not been used for a few days, it gets fresh water prior to demo. I haven't bothered doing a before and after, but boy the shots are good!

Sadness. Then relief.
2 weeks ago I was cleaning the group/ flushing Alex. Wet hand holding the lever against the spring pressure.
it slipped.
a mighty thump as its snapped upwards. It had then a click and the whole group would pull away when (fighting back tears) I went to work the lever. Adopting caution (finally) I didn't put any real pressure on it , but took it into Chris for repair .
it was a very inexpensive and prompt repair, and the biggest hardship was having the machine unusable until fixed.
Even the plumber , who worked for a full 4 minutes disconnecting it, didn't even charge me
. So I was well looked after.
i think all in all I was lucky. Things could have been worse.
so, spring lever brothers and sisters, You already know this but...
Please remember to not get things wet & slippery when you're pulling against the spring with an empty pf!
