I have only had my Profitec Pro 700 for a few days but am totally rapt with it's performance, it has lived up to my expectations. My naked group handle from the Isomac Tea II fitted the new machine with identical group handles which is a little bonus!!
I started brewing on 95C with nice tasty espresso with darker cocoa notes, I dropped the PID back to 93C and the difference in taste was very distinct producing a rich chocolate taste. I am going to love being able to change the brew temp to suit the coffee!!
    Steaming power is most impressive!

Alrighty, I got it back. So here we go Nester, here's what was wrong with it...

The water tank was vibrating inside of the holder. That's pretty much it! It was sending vibrations throughout the machine causing some pretty mental noise. The difference now is quite stark.

Pleased it was something simple and not the pump acting up or anything. Though feel a bit silly I allowed it to persist for so long...

Anywho, hope this helps anyone who may be experiencing a similar issue.

    Hey guys,

Long time lurker here! The advice in this thread pushed me to getting a Pro700 and a T64 a few months ago. Definitely my first high end machine, and I'm loving the results so far, aside from one thing I'm looking to get resolved..

The 700 seems unusually loud for a rotary pump, and often times I get vibrations through the drip tray (with/without the extra little riser). I didn't really think too much of it, but after going away over the break and using a GS/3 for a while, I was astonished how much quieter it was, so I went back and looked at a few youtube vids of other Pro700s, and sure enough, they all seemed to be in line with what you'd assume a rotary pump to sound like.

I can get some videos if people need, but I'm wondering if there's anything that may be going on, or that I can do to help with this? It was tested before it was sent to me, and it has always sounded like this.

Let me know if any more info is needed and I'll get right on it.

    Any help very much appreciated!

I plain on going with the profitec pro 700 with plumb in, but I also have another filter in place for our drinking water it is the CHP-250 from Coway(its a big one) but we want it to last till we move which, the filter last for 24 months; its also an RO membrane(idk if that helps) but I dont know if i am able to plumb it in with another filter while that is plumbed in; unless you can have more than one water filter on your water line.

Be sure of what you're sure of. You googled that first...... of course?

Mavea LLC (USA) are associated with Brita International http://www.brita.com.au/brita/au-au/...s/gcc_1_3.grid but don't list any Brita products. Brita in the US https://www.brita.com/replacement-filters/ in the USA don't list any under bench or commercial filter systems.

The Mavea under bench system is here

I've had my Profitec 700 for a couple of weeks now, upgraded from the Breville dual boiler. Just a note in case someone else runs into this...
I was playing with the service menu (mainly as I wanted to assess my F.02 options) and since I had the menu open I went through each sub menu item (to familiarise myself with things and see if the actual defaults agreed with the manual for future reference) and discovered an interesting bug if you change the F.01 setting from °C to °F and back to °C again.
After I turned the machine back on I shortly started to hear a loud hissing noise, the steam boiler pressure was on its way past 2 bar but the steam boiler temp was only showing about 70ish degrees. Switch off, open steam to vent the excess (took a good minute to get back to normal pressure) and go through the menu to check the values against the manual to find that the E2 value had changed from 0 to 45. This is the offset for the steam boiler temp so since I had mine set to 126°C it was actually trying to get to 171°C... Good news: The over pressure relief valve on my machine is in good working order.
It's interesting that this seems to happen on the °F -> °C change. When I set it to °F it was ok.

Just something to watch out for if you're playing with any of the behind-the-scenes settings.

I also wasn't expecting it, but found the drip tray plumbing kit included with my machine. It works perfectly because I have placed my machine right next to the sink in the pantry, and although it would be easy enough to empty the drip tray manually it is easier still to have it plumbed so I don't have to lift anything. So that's what I did. Unfortunately husband is still reluctant to drill a hole in the bench top so I am currently using the countertop water softening filter and manually pouring water into the water reservoir at the back of the machine. My drain hose goes into the sink which is on the right hand side of the machine, so I haven't really plumbed it in. When I get an okay from husband to drill a hole thorough the Caesarstone, I will properly get the intake and drain hoses plumbed in and get under counter water softening system and things will look much neater I hope.

The drain box kit is just a black plastic box with separate screws and nuts and washers all included. What didn't come with the machine were the 13mm diameter hose and the clamp thing to secure the hose to the barbed spout sticking out from the drain box. I already had those from my gardening project (drip irrigation) but you can easily get them at Bunnings.

The stainless steel drip tray came with a hole pre-drilled in the centre bottom of the tray, and the hole was plugged with a round metal plug and a rubber washer, that can be unscrewed from underneath. Just around the centre hole, the area is sunken in a bit (deeper) so that the water will naturally fall down through there in to the black plastic drain box underneath. I find that the bottom of drip tray is really nice and flat and there is no low corners so dirty water will nicely exit from the centre hole of the drip tray. I like precision like that.

You will have to attach the black plastic drain box to the frame of the espresso machine (there were already two holes available at the front end of the frame underneath the drip tray to attach the drain box onto. You can position the black box so the spout will face to the right or to the back of the machine depending on where you want the drain to go. Overall, after I figured out what the black box and the screws were for, I got it set up in 10 minutes tops. It was a lovely surprise because there was no mention of the drip box in the manual and I wasn't expecting it to be included in the package. I am very pleased with the outcome. To clear the drip tray and the drip box, I just occasionally pour water with my long spouted kettle and encourage the coffee dregs to go down through the centre hole, and that's all I have to do. If it gets really grungy (technical term) I can easily unscrew the black box and give it a good wash, and I might even replace the hose occasionally too.

    I hope this helps someone.
This helps big time I was going the route of the profitec pro 700 but instead of the res I wanted to plum in it, but I think my challenge would be how am I going to propley plumb it in; I was going to get a BWT bestmax filter to filter out my tap water but will I still be able to plumb in the water line to my tap and still plumb this in also at the same time(so can use the sink and wash dishes and pull shots but maybe not at the same time and the same time would be a bonus tho, but dosent have to be

I'm a few weeks into my relationship with the Profitec Pro 700. It replaced a Giotto that I had got lots of value and pleasure from. I thought about the Evoluzione v2, but am really glad that I went with the Profitec purchased from Renzo and Ofra at DiBartoli.

I like the styling of the machine and the build quality is something else. I was dubious about the shot timer initially, but I actually really like it and find it useful. The rotary pump on the Profitec is very quiet; the pump on my old Giotto made quite a noise.

I agree with danatsnobs' comment about the cup tray; it is easy to lift the whole tray off (even if full), or to pull the tray forward and let it cantilever, to access the water tank. Taking all the glasses and cups off the Giotto to access the water tank had irritated me and I hadn't been storing anything on top of the machine for years.

As of today the Profitec is paired with a Rocket Fausto grinder. I'm one very happy chappy!

    Welcome nester,

Assuming that the shower screen isn't blocked with old coffee due to no backflushing, I'd be looking to a gicleur blocked/partially blocked with scale.

Google an e-61 diagram. You will need a 7mm socket to remove it if it's generic on Profitec. A soak in some descaler (acid) should clear it and it can then be reinstalled.

I got some problems with my pro700. After few months of not using the machine it looks like it cloged somewhere... After pulling lever up without portafilter, pressure is going to 9 bar... And it looks like water flowing allittle bit too slow. Anybody have An idea where may be the problem ?
    Thanks!

Just received my pro 700 last night and I am very happy with the machine. The attention to detail on the machine is excellent.

It was also great to see the testing sheet included by Jetblack. Really gives me confidence that everything had been set up correctly.

Only made a few coffees so far but the results are great, and the pump is amazingly quiet.
