Yes, but in Australia this needs to be done by a technician (post purchase) or specified at time of purchase so that your machine can be configured for 15Amp (including having the appropriate plug fitted and tested). You can't simply turn it on via the PID,

Can the Profitec 700 be configured to heat both boilers at the same time? I guess this would be 11amp mode?

By the way...anyone hesitating about the pro700 because of having to lift off the whole tray to fill it up, this is not an issue. The tray even when full just has to be lifted a tiny bit and then balances perfectly on the machine exposing the reservoir. (I tried to post some pics but having trouble for some reason with the app not accepting iPhone file format?)

    Great great machine.

Also just about to finish plumbing it in so that takes care of it completely. Excellent machine.

Just received my pro700 a couple of days ago. Still settling in the perfect grind dose etc. it is a beautiful piece of kit though.

Quick thanks to snack for the detailed post on setting up the drain kit for the drip tray. Will save me some time.

Two questions. Is anyone having luck steaming microfoam in a small jug using this machine? I find it too powerful so far. Would anyone know whether reducing the steam boiler temp would reduce the pressure a bit and make it easier? Or is it just experience?

Second I'm using an 18g vst basket. Is anyone using similar and if so what sort of dose are you getting the best results with?

Also (third question I know) are people giving the group a quick flush before running shots or is there no need on this sort of double boiler?

    Cheers for any advice.

If your choice comes down to pure aesthetics, one thing I like on the R58 is the long straight steam wand. Looks very nice. Not sure if it's harder / easier to use compared to the traditional S-shaped design.

I have had my 700 for about 6 weeks now and I am happy I have it. I married it with the MACAP4D, I wish I had of used quality beans to dial in my grinder. I used crap beans from woollies, I thougt i was going crazy in the end I worked out that no matter how good your grinder is bad beans is bad beans. Lol. I hope this helps anyone wanting to purchase one of these awesome machines, they are that easy my 9 year old can make a good coffee.

I was an early adopter and continue to love my 700. Had a chance recently to try out a colleague's new Londinium I (took my own beans and grinder to even things out) and have no desire to move to a lever.
