  • Hi 700 owners. I just picked up my new machine, and I was wondering about heating the boilers at the same time, however I see the option has been removed from the service menu. Is this due to both boilers using more than 2400watts ?

Second question. I want to rotate the spout on the dual PF so it is more central on the drip tray. Does anyone have any advice on this ? I was thinking, heat it up and gently rotate. I'm assuming there is loctite on the threads.

Anything else I should know or do ?

    Cheers
    Jamie

    • It takes time for the group to warm up sufficiently and by this time the two boilers are ready for action so there is no need to have them both warming up simultaneously.
Enjoy your new machine,I have had mine a while now and loving the experience!!
      cheers

        Hi Greenman,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, happy to keep it the way it is. Just wondered why the option wasn't there.

Thought I would have to dial things in this morning, but first shot was great. So I pulled another to see if it was consistent, and it was. Really love this machine already.

        • The double spout will centre more as time goes on with the seal being worn in.

The two heaters add up to more than 10A current draw, so they will be configured so only one can be on at any given time.

            • Thanks Rusty. Yes I noticed I can't quite get 90 degrees on the PF handle, but I was referring to the spouts being close to the front edge of the machine.
I rotated mine 180 so they are in the middle of the tray, however I think I now know why they were like they were. Having the cups in the middle of the drip tray reduces the lever's clearance. At least with taller cups like bodums.

              • Ended up rotating the spouts back around the way they were. Although the cups need to be closer to the edge, they don't foul on the lever.

On a different note. After having a machine with lever actuated water and steam I'm not sold on the knob style. I could say I'll get used to it, and I probably will, but why should I ? I don't turn my lights on with a dimmer switch...

Apart from that though I think the machine is just great. Very consistent.
