    1. Turn programming toggle switch on.
    2. Press and hold the programming key on the left group , the lights will flash one its in programme
    3. Pressing the button you wish to programme will start dispensing , press again once you have your desired volume.
    The light on that key should now be out as its now programmed , you can then repeat the other buttons as you wish.
    4. Press the programme key again to exit programming.
    5. Turn the toggle switch back off.

    If all of this doesnt work and the light flashes during dispensing then its likely you have a faulty flowmeter.

    Ok , tried recommended procedure , no luck.

    Im wondering if there is a sequence to the programming, directions a tad unclear.
    Anyone help with specifics?
    So far
    Switched small programming toggle switch down ( hopefully on)
    Selected program button on right hand side (no lights)
    Any advice much appreciated.
    PS my machine a little different in button layout than provided manual.
    Thanks in advance

    Section 10 'Cleaning' page 73 of the linked manual. Halfway down the page:

    Delivery groups (except for ALE version)
    The cleaning of the internal parts of the delivery groups is to be performed weekly in the following manner:
    • replace the normal filter of the filter-holder with a solid one;
    • pour a teaspoon of a suitable detergent powder on the solid filter, and attach the filter-holder to the group;
    • use the delivery switch to set the group in operation;
    • repeat the above operations until the water comes out clean;
    • turn off and remove the filter-holder from the group;
    • rinse a final time, so as to remove any residual detergent.
    WARNING
    Do not use a solid filter to clean the machines with a lever group (ALE)
    Additionally, pull and discard at least one shot per group after completing the above procedure.

    No problem, toggle switch for turning program function on, the other switch is for the cup heating element.
