In the end I decided against the Strega for various reasons. Went with an ECM Technika Profi IV rotary. Very happy with the coffee and it looks great on the bench too. Looking forward to getting a hole in the bench so I can plumb it in.
And thanks to Di Bartoli for setting me up. Great service and a great range of machines powered up and ready to go. Nothing beats a bit of hands on to help make a decision.

Unfortunately the Alex is above the budget and would occupy a little to much realestate.

Yes, dammit! The thing always goes awol.Originally posted by freeferty View PostHi there Snobs,

JTTP! ;-)
I don't own a Strega or any other lever but have regular coffees from an Izzo Alex Leva, incredible internal
and external build quality, very sexy cut away reveal on the 55 mm LM group, almost impossible to channel, beautiful shots.
Have you considered any other machines or is your mind made up? My current lever of choice.

Hi ff and welcome to CS,
If you have the strega in mind, I cannot recommend too highly that you also have a look over the Izzo Alex Leva. It's in a different league.
We also have a low use demo for sale.
Happy shopping!

A couple of questions for Strega owners
Hi there Snobs,
Looking to upgrade the Silvia after 7 years of solid service. At the top of the list is the Strega. I have a couple of questions if I may.
For those of you with the Tank or Plumb model plumbed dodoes the vibe pump stay connected?
Also when making multiple coffees do you find yourself waiting for the lever to return home? Does this get annoying?
How do you find the build quality?
Thanks for your comments
