Rocket R58 / Mazzer mini electronic Prices

Hi all,

My names Josh, Have been reading this wonderful forum for about 3 months now and never made an account till today.

I have decided I am very interested in the Rocket R58 / Mini Mazzer electronic due to reading post on this forum ie reviews and that my uncle has this combo and have tested the product a few times.

I was hoping i could get some advice on the prices you have been quoted for these products?

The best price i have been quoted is $4,700.00 from coffeeparts.com.au so far.

would appreciate the advice. Look forward to asking loads more questions in months to come.

Welcome Josh,

Might I suggest that a more appropriate way to commence your enquiries on price might be to use the CS quote form as a starter?

Pricing will always be dependent on what level of support you require. An unopened box will in all likelihood cost you less than one which a supplier has spent significant time testing and checking to ensure it's perfect. In house service and support may be more expensive than a business which sends warranty and service work to a 3rd party for repairs. Some suppliers include no accessories, some include rubbish accessories and some include high quality accessories or other incentives. You might conclude that there is a good chance that you will receive what you pay for!

FWIW, I'd buy a Macap M4D over a mini-e every time- even if the Macap was significantly more expensive- which it isn't.

Perhaps you have already looked into where you can buy this as a combo here in Brisbane but I just PM's you since I don't think the place I mention is a site sponsor. It's not on the south side but it's not far. After all if you intend to spend that kind of money I am sure it is worthwhile driving there

Maybe because other's who are in the same situation, looking for the same stuff, would benefit from knowing what sort of prices others are getting... Why browse different car dealer websites and check out prices? Just go to the dealer closest to your home and pay whatever he says the car is worth. Or maybe not...

Yes- we get the calls every week. "No I can't be bothered looking on the website for myself. Just give me the answer." Others are actually staring at the page and the answer to their question and they still call! Horses for courses and I guess it comes down to how interested you really "is".

Just last week we picked up the pieces again for a client who purchased a great machine at rock bottom price and has now been back to us twice. On the first visit, we literally picked them up. He now has the machine he thought he was buying, but at well over what he should have paid for it after he settled a repair and upgrade account and now a modification account. He lucked out on the service and support part of the transaction when he purchased elsewhere. We're happy to have gained a client and he's stoked with the final result.

For some, it's only ever price. Others choose relationships, support, service and get a great price to boot.

Sure, that's fair enough to a great extent. But you do realise that this is a sponsored site, and not the Whirlpool forums? Some decent people provide obligation free specialist advice. I don't mean any offense whatsover, but part of the reason the site works is that the site is not a tool for the exchange of receipts (there's nothing inherently wrong with that....but you are using a site paid for by it's sponsors). I have no vested interest in this, other than seeking information relevant to making better coffee. Just raising a few things that may be worth thinking about.

Sponsors sponsor this and other sites because they know it's good for their business, just like various members of the Whirlpool forum are from various businesses and have an intere$t in being active on that forum.

Price is not everything, but it IS a major part in the decision about what to buy, so I don't blame Josh at all for asking what sort of prices people are getting. It's just another piece of information, and why would you not seek more information, especially about one of the major factors in your decision making? It's even in sponsors' interest to know what sort of prices are floating around out there, regardless of whether they come from sponsors or non-sponsors of this this. It's then up to each and everyone's own moral as to who you buy from, and how big part price is vs the level of service you get. Like others, I would lean towards purchasing from people who have kindly offered their expertise here, rather than from Dodgy Dick who can push the price down a few dollars more.

The more information the better, so I think people should ask away, whatever it may be that they're asking about (including prices). It also seems that Josh wasn't aware at the time of his initial post that there were sponsors, and a way to contact them directly (which Chris clarified nicely).

All valid points. Perhaps I could just ask all of the businesses that sell them to post all of their sell prices here? It would sure save me a heck of a lot of time in ensuring that we are competitive on price. In addition I see "prices" on other forums every day which are patently pure BS. They give people unrealistic expectations. You should see some of the CS enquiries we get: "Want a new Alex Duetto III. Prepared to pay $2000. At least I don't have to waste time replying to them!

My concern was that the OP was trying to commence a reverse auction- which I see as bone lazy. He could have taken the time and made a tiny effort to make a call or check a website or two and he might just have learned something on the way as well. Priceless and free!

Just this morning I had 2 people call me to read what was actually on the web page they were viewing at the time. Another 2 rang for my advice as to what superauto machine to buy from me when it's pretty clear from our website that we don't sell them. I referred both to Hardly Normal and suggested they look me up in 2 weeks to 2 years when they realise they have wasted their $$$. Others call regularly to bleed me dry with no intention of ever spending a buck. This is consulting (insulting) and it should be a paid service.

It irks me that our society is becoming "a put it on a silver platter for me" society. How is it that people are now too lazy to even check a website and yet they gripe about lazy kids? Meanwhile, their culos expand.

I think part of it is to blame on the fact that pretty much every shop out there advertises prices that are actually not the price they're willing to sell for and still make a decent profit. Instead they all want to be seen as being able to "do a special price for you", ie they put up the advertised price so that they can give you a "special" (lower) price and look good / get good reputation. Hence, you don't know what their price is until you ask them. Same thing with all the RRP rubbish; it doesn't reflect a "real" price given that pretty much no one charges RRP.

Where I'm from, prices are as shown on the price tags, and that's it, not much point in trying to get a better price really. Here in Australia it's quite different, and it took me some time to get used to because I felt rude or just wasn't used to it, but now I never pay what the price tag says without at least asking if they can do a better price. Nine out of ten times they can knock off 5-10% just like that, which leaves me thinking that paying advertised prices is probably not fair towards me.

So I too would ask for your prices, even if you display them on your site. It's just that I don't really know what your prices really are until we throw some numbers forth and back. At the same time I totally accept if you tell me that the prices are as advertised and that's it. Fair enough. Then I know. Most shops don't though, which means that's the norm here.

I totally agree with you that it's quite rude to ask you to spend a whole heap of time explaining things if they have no intention of buying from you. There's gotta be balance and fairness.

Anyway, I saw this thread as someone asking an innocent but, at least to him, important question to gauge what sort of prices people were getting, and told off a few posts later for seeking such information. That's all.
