Commercial Coffee Machine for a Cafe

Hi Folks,

Due to some persecution from the my local council in Melbourne, I am being forced into converting my retail store into a Cafe by the end of June or I will be taken to court.
I have no experience in the hospitality industry so I will be going into this pretty blind. From the limited research and meeting with a local bean supplier, I'll be after a 2 group commercial machine. Budget is up to $10,000 which will need to include a grinder as well. I have been recommended to look at the Astoria range and the Mazzer Jolly. I don't mind spending a little extra if it really makes a huge difference to the end result, but don't want to be paying for a big brand name for the sake of a brand.

I'd also like it to be reliable and easily maintained. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Will do Andy. With Beanbay, is there a different set of pricing for commercial purchases? I'm looking at starting with just 1 type of bean, which one has the most appeal to the masses?

So it's not really the council's fault....it's your lawyer's and the lessor's. Hope it works out for you, and that you can still sell whatever it was that your original business model had in mind.
