All comes down to quality of prep and finish and how the end user cares for the machine. I have seen both stainless and powdercoated which look new after five years and then there are some that look 20YO ofter 12 months. Some just don't look after their stuff.
OP- you could also look into cerakote. Far more robust than powdercoat.

FilthySudo Is it still under warranty?
I’d be reluctant to pull it apart like that if it is.
also consider that powder coating will eventually be eaten by the acids in espresso and cleaning products.

Yeah I’d love to do the side but the front is the part I really see! The anthracite model wasn’t available when I bought my unit, so I would love to get the front done too

No but you could just paint/powder coat the side panels and leave the front panel in stainless steel. Looks pretty good I think and a lot less hassle.Originally posted by FilthySudo View PostHas anyone ever looked into powder coating the front panel of their machine?

Ha, thanks. I was kind of asking if all the parts on the front are easily removeable, as in I won’t have to pry to get bits off in order to send the panel in to get painted. I’ll try get a quote before attempting it anyways

If you are competent enough to change the spark plugs in your car or the tyres on your bicycle then you should be able to do it.
If you have trouble changing a tap washer then “move away from the espresso machine”.

Has anyone ever looked into powder coating the front panel of their machine? The 25th anniversary sync got released less than a month after I purchased my sync v3, but with the hefty 1.2k more than the standard I was glad it was that price. Just curious how hard it would be to do, as group head, valves would need to be removed, and unsure how hard the pid, guages and all that are to take out for it to get coated

Couple second flush after every single shot. I also use a puck screen and basically keeps my shower screen completely clean

Fresh oxygenated water will always contribute to a better tasting shot than stale old water full of tainted old grinds that remain in and around your Grouphead.
Do you ever flush clean after a shot ?
Oh and a well setup Aust spec HX that was bench tested before sale, as is often the case with machines from the reputable sponsors here, And has been well maintained doesn't usually require a cooling flush.
Internet mythology 101.....!

Flush or not to flush? Do you that own your sync, do you do a quick flush prior to pulling a shot? Or do you just pull your shot? I know for hx machines flushing is ideal to not have too hot of water in the brew head, but is it neccessary for our machines?

😂😂 . I remember owning a sunbeam conical, like the em660 or something along those lines! Shot coffee out everywhere but the item you wanted it in!

WHAT DID YOU SAY????
I gave my old Sunbeam grinder to a friend earlier in the year.
After upgrading to a Silenzio and then a Lagom I could barely believe how loud it was.

Yep I would agree with you, but the sette has to be one of the loudest ones. I can’t have a conversation while it’s grinding, it’s almost deafening 😂😂
