New PID, relay, the nouse to wire it all up and the ability to tune the PID correctly for the machine. We defer to the big brain of Rick for our shot timer retrofits.

Perhaps I'm the only nutjob here who felt strangely disappointed reading Tom's comments regarding the Valexia being "ridiculously quiet". The idea of that big boy being as quiet as a little mouse is unnerving.

I've always found the grunt and hiss of a coffee machine reassuringly timeless, and immensely comforting. Obviously nobody wants the sound of a cement pump jackhammering into their lughole first thing in the morning, but I don't want a squeak either - come on, gimme a bitta' music!

(I'll gather you've all figured out by now that I live alone, and am not married).
I'm not sure that I agree with you on that one Weasel.

One aspect of my role which often causes frustration is when a machine goes up on our test bench before it ships to a client and it sounds like a tractor; especially in rotary pump machines which should be pretty quiet. We do our utmost to attend to that and in rare instances can even fail and return "Friday afternoon" builds which will not be quietened. A true bench test is why it's best not to purchase from a box seller. If there is to be heartbreak, I want it to occur at our place, not in your home.

One of the lovely rewards of my job is the sound of caffeinated nectar as it hits the cup- particularly when there is no other sound as with leva machines like the Cremina and our other spring leva gear- and when a rotary pump is noisier than some vibe pumps can be, it irritates me. As an owner, I'd rightly wonder what I'd paid for.

Izzo are absolutely at the top of the game when it comes to producing quiet rotary pump driven gear and I am yet to hear another brand of prosumer gear (and that includes all of the biggies so frequently discussed here) which is close to being in the same ballpark. Like a smooth running car, you see, hear and feel quality and care in production and that's without even peering inside to admire build quality. All that's left is to nail taste- and that's the role of the operator.

I have little doubt that you will make sufficient racket in producing said coffee to appease yourself!

    Chris

I bought a Valexia from Chris a couple of weeks ago. This is my 'first' machine (technically second, mum and dad had a $400 thermoblock). The Valexia has being an awesome machine so far. No issues. There are many positives:
    -It's ridiculously quiet
-Fast warm-up time (less than 10mins till stable temp!)
-The way this machine delivers the 9bar pressure is fantastic
    -Dry steam
    -Easy to use PID
-Did I mention how beautiful it looks!

Like the 80/20 rule, it satisfies pretty much all my needs. If I wanted that extra 20% (pressure profiling, saturated brew group), I'd have to pay up for a Vesuvius/GS3/modded Linea mini. I'm happy with what I got.

Here's a pic of my setup. Thanks to Lukemc for the Kony too!

    Hi John,

At this point it's an option/retrofit.

Nice! The LED colour looks like a nice white too. Would this PID unit be retro fittable to something like the Duetto?

    Cheers

In the next round of pimping, we have proof of concept that a shot timer is doable on the Valexia...

    Stay tuned!

Same machine with new clothes Brett. This spec adds stainless boilers and solenoid (plus the promise of some in the near future pimping...)

We feel the Valexia has more contemporary looks so it will becomes our current offer.

Yes definitely. It will take it right up to the R58, but out specs it on stainless chassis, boilers and solenoids...

As for a whole heap of other wannabes....
