Hi Deecee. I also had one of these and could not have been happier with it. The internal pump will draw as soon as you turn it on. For me, my concern was whether the pump could draw through an in-line filter from a jerry can, so I supplemented it with a Flojet pump and pump from a Neverfail water bottle. Works a treat! at least this way you are removing the scale from the water before it cakes to the inside of your boiler over time.
I have my setup in an Ikea kitchen cabinet with the pump, filter, water in and wastage jerrycan in the cupboard underneath. The Flojet adds a bit of extra noise while running but has a safety and switches off when it detects the bottle is empty.

filling boiler expobar 2 group compact
Have just picked up an expobar 2 group compact that won't be getting plumbed in and was wondering.....if i'm drawing water from a jerry can, do i need to prime or prefill the boiler or will the pump in the machine draw water into the boiler the moment it is turned on?
Thanks in advanceTags: None
