Yes you can definitely open it up for inspection. That doesn’t void warranty any more than lifting the bonnet of your car.

However if you stuff something in the process of poking about trying to fix it yourself then you could have issues.

Given it’s in warranty, maybe have a chat to the dealer.

It's a rocket r58 and it's still within warranty and never been serviced. Using filtered water which has been tested and is very soft. Just not sure if I can open up the machine without voiding warranty?

I see coffeeparts has anti-vac valves that plumb into the drip tray. Upset i didnt get myself one of them.

Most likely steam from safety valve. Could be faulty valve or relay. What machine is it?

It happens when the machine is dormant between coffees. Only noticed it a couple of times this week, but it's when the machine has been on for a while and hasn't made a coffee for at least an hour.

Could it be the false pressure release on the steam boiler?

This could occur if you draw off a good amount from the hot water wand (eg making long blacks or tea).

Cold water rushes in and the water goes below boiling. Then you get hissing until the fales pressure is bled as the machine passes back through 100C.

Hissing coming from dual boiler when at temperature.

    Hi,

My dual boiler hisses on occasion, when at temperature. Is this normal?

Doesn't happen often but when it does it can be stopped by a quick purge of the steam wand.

It's coming from the top/inside the machine, not at the steam wand or valve.
    Thanks.
