  • Stainless braided food grade hoses

    Hi all,

My FEMA Due needs new water hoses. The hoses have special fittings for the pump, water filter and solenoid side. I was thinking of getting Pirtek to make some up using my old fittings. Not sure if they do food grade. Anyone have suggestions?

    Cheers

Bugger, coffeeparts dont do the bigger fittings by the look of things...9/16ths or 5/8th...

      Cheers

Those measurements are irrelevant. In your pic with the tape that is a 3/8BSP fitting which denotes the trade fitting and not the actual size. Eg. 1/4 inch BSP is closer to having a 1/2 inch physical size, which it's not, so to speak.

That looks to be a 3/8" BSP fitting, about 15mm ID on the female thread.

The nominal size is the ID of the standard pipe on which the fitting is mounted, not the fitting itself. The ID of a female thread is larger than the nominal pipe size by about 3/16" / 5mm.

Edit: didn't see the above post whilst checking the pic.

Thanks for that. I appreciate the help. Thinking back I think the water filter had 3/8th BSB tails so the rest will be the same. Cheers

The small - 30cm - hose sent from CP for the run between the water solenoid and rotary pump has the wrong connector size and different flange (mine is smaller than 3/8 BSB supplied). I could only see one type on their FAEMA diagrams. I have asked them for the correct one. Anyone know where I can get this part if CP can't help me?

Old one in photos is the one with the smaller connector and the one sent by CP has the larger connector.

              Cheers

For now I have reinforced the small hose with insulation tape and after freeing up the pump that had seized I'm pulling beautiful shots again.

                Cheers

That looks to be a 1/4" SAE flare.

If coffee parts cannot do one I might try taking the new hose and old to Pirtek or similiar and asking them to swap over the fitting on that end. Cheers

Probably cheaper to buy a premade hose and an adapter: 1/4 SAE is a very common connector, Ryco will have adapters to virtually everything off the shelf.
