  • Rocket R Nine One

Might be of interest to some. Full review of the Rocket R Nine One including a look inside. At around $9500 it's obviously for a limited sector of the domestic market but interesting nonetheless.

According to his site he's sold 2 of 3 from his first allocation. A couple of really happy super Coffeesnobs out there I'd imagine.

Seems like the natural successor to the Vesuvius sitting on my bench, now to apply for that small home loan......

Mine's been brilliant and super stable. So far, only routine maintenance: group seals and routine seals to steam and hot water. I replaced the anti-vac valve as a while I was in as a precautionary measure. Other than that, rock solid. I gather that's the worldwide experience. They're an incredible machine. Not a single regret.

I've had one for a couple of weeks now and find it very good.

Yeah, can you drop it at my place when you've finished? Cheers.

OK, on a serious note, is the R91 pressure profiling programmable like the Vesuvius . I understand there are preset profiles but can you set up custom profiles?
It tank or plumbed in or both ?

Put the scones on, we are coming to test it out. Sydney, then Napier.

You can use 5 preset slots, any of which can be customised, and there’s an additional manual slot. This last one works by recording your most recent fully manual pour and saving that as a profile.

In manual mode, the paddle is a full fly by wire proportional control. Otherwise when using preset profiles, it’s a on/off switch.

You can also do volumetric dosing like a GS3AV

It supports tank and plumbed. Takes 2 seconds to switch over.

My old Rocket Giotto just celebrated its 10 year anniversary and looking for my next machine. I just checked the price: whoa, ~$9.5k puts it well outside the budget of my upgradomania cure.

Did you get the black plastic grill that protects where the cups go?
