I am currently away from the machine.
Look for a hole in the rear of the cup warmer plate. There is a slotted screw underneath. This is the valve for bleeding the air out. I believe it only takes a 90 degree turn to open it.

Thanks — mine did too and I followed the steps but nothing ever went into the tray, I don’t even know where that valve is — maybe you could pls send me a picture of it? And how do you bleed into the valve? Ty

My machine (also from Espressocoffeeshop) came with a separate leaflet laying the steps out.

With purging (bleeding air) I was referring to the ‘hidden’ valve underneath in the back of the cup tray. I think we are talking about the same thing.
I have mine fully plumbed in, so I am not sure what normal noise levels would be for tank operation.
With my setup I find the sound the machine makes when refilling the boiler(s) is somewhat noisy. It sounds like water splashing into a non-sound-insulated steel tank…which is basically what it is.
My gear pump is also fairly quiet. Other than the tinnitus sound I had mentioned in earlier posts all sounds fine for me.
So I think in your case the machine is not fully filled with water yet. Did you bleed it until water came out of the purge valve underneath the brewing group?

Hi. Thank you for the help! It is running off of the tank and yes I did select the correct source in the menu. If what you mean by purging the air is turning the screw on top 1/4 turn while the coffee boiler was filling and then turning it a quarter turn back after that was full, yes I did that. Is there another way to purge the air or something else I should be doing?? I have not however at any point seen any water enter the drip tray through the valve that is referred to in the instructions. Perhaps there is some kind of auto-release pressure valve that is closed or blocked? Does that make any sense. It does seem like the crazy sounds during the heating phase may simply require an adjustment or some air purging or something. The sounds of the pump when pulling a shot are another question, do those sound normal? They seem very loud. Perhaps they could be related to the same issue? Thank you again! Tony

Hi Tony, is it plumbed in or do you use the tank? Have you selected the correct source in the menu?
Have you purged the air when first running it?

Hi all — I just received a new R Nine One and I don’t think that it is working properly. Purchased from eapressocoffeeshop in Italy. When Thr machine heats up it makes crazy loud whistling sounds, almost sounds like modern music. Then when I pull a shot the grear pump is shockingly loud. I have video files I will love to share though not sure how to post them. I will try somehow. Any feedback much appreciated! Thank you!!

herzog; curious if you were able to locate the battery/power source.Originally posted by herzog View PostAnyone know how/where to change the internal battery? I've noticed my machine no longer keeps the time and date after a full power down, so I assume there's a small backup battery in there somewhere?

I had hoped to find an answer for you and have only found user guide and common parts listings.

I’ll see if I can find it as mine is currently apart.
