  • RANCILIO S24 HELP PLEASE

Ive just been given a S24 and have a few questions:

    1. should steam be coming out of the wand at all times?

    2. where can I obtain a manual

    3. the water out of the right nozzle is a dirty greyish colour

    any help would be great

    cheers

    1. No! Time for a rebuild of the valve it sounds like.

    2. Google is your friend.

    3. Probably sediment stirred up by the moving. The boiler should be at least drained and flushed. A look inside the boiler to see if it needs descaling would be a good idea as well.

      Re: RANCILIO S24 HELP PLEASE

I love these machines at present, It makes better coffee than most I have out, exccept that double espresso at Tillies in Canberra Monday at about 6PM, (their san marino machine is worth visiting if the same barrista is on the job, excceptional. When I got my machine in a bad looking state I just did general repairs, cleaning with backflush solution, replacement of group seal, and a new foot from coffee parts. I have The manual from another coffeesnobber.. and coffeeparts has lush diagrams, which you have probably already found, and i have here somewhere. Please feel free to PM if you want any of the above. well done on acquiring such a workable and lush looking, if industrial machine......

thanks guys ive managed to grab hold of a users manual (the wonders of the web!)....

ive ended up getting a new valve via a online parts company for a reasonable £40 gbp......... to be fitted over the weekend

as for cleaning the boiler out and descaling I think ill have to a look inside the beauty as well.

I know I need a blanking plate to backflush so thats also on the list.

At the moment im using pre ground coffee so not getting the correct flow for the crema

loving the machine and pleased as it was a gift from my father
