  • La Cimbali Junior Rebuid

I understand some fellow snobs have gone through this process of love and sweat. (slowdown, I think I have seen your name associated with this topic). I have recently bought an old Junior, and I am wondering if anybody has a pdf copy of a manual, or will I need to construct my own with the aid of digital camera as I dismantle.

    Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help, and offers of help. I will be picking it up tomorrow I hope. I will put some photos up as I go for your entertainment! I hope the first before pictures are not too entertaining!!

Unfortunately due to work obligations, I will not be getting my teeth into this project properly for another eight weeks, but I will be having an inital look under the bonnet.

That sounds more like a part number or serial number than a La Cimbali model number. :-?

Then perhaps the model No. is:

              Tipo: Junior/D

thats very similar to mine. looks like youre missing a few odds and ends but it doesnt look too bad. its funny the little differences in machines. i notice your frame is galvanized. mine was just painted steel. that thing looks better than mine did before i tore mine down. looks like our machines are very close in age

                        Hi Blunt.
Do you haveany idea what sort of vintage? I cant find a date of manufacture anywhere, but some of the info on the data plate has been rubbed off by cleaning.

I have all the covers, which are in good condition. A couple of knobs are missing off the front, but they are generic square drive ones that should be easy to source. Do you know what that bit that is missing off the top of the boiler with a lonely looking wire is?

im going to guess yours is in the neighborhood of 12 years old. ive had mine 10 years and it was supposedly 2 years old when i got it. the piece on top is for the fill level. its a simple probe that the loose wire connects to and tells the machine when the boiler is full. it operates exactly like the water tank on the rear of the machine. it also looks like you need a new pressure safety valve. this will be a fun and rewarding project for you

                            Hi palpitation,
I think Blunt (Iam from Amsterdam, so I think this is a good nick!) is right.
the machine is aprox 12 jears old.
If you want I can check the serial number in Italy.
I orderd the knobs you are missing in Melbourne.
You are missing the group handles also, But I will arrange these becouse they should be with the machine.
If you give Kel or me your e-mail adres I wil sent you the photos I made when I was rebuilding a junior. (you know I rebuild over 10 juniors in Holland)
I prommised to help you, and I will.

                              o, uhh Palp,...
You have a cadet grinder, I can make it a junior if you like.
It will be a junior grinder with automatic switch off when ground container is filled.
the difference is the size of the hopper (and the automatic switch off)
If you want a junior bean hopper, Ive got one.
