Great pics of the restore. I just picked up the Faema E98 S1 which from what I see, is really similar to the Junior. My floaty ball bit seems to be missing and I cant tell the water level in the boiler. How do I fix that?
@ e-gene
Most of the time, one of the two pipes leading from the boiler to the level glass is clogged with calcium.
almost always the bottom one.
Take the pressure of ur boiler,
put the machine somewhere, were its ok to spill some water.
take the left side panel of the machine,
undo the small nut at the underside of the boiler.
be careful not to damage the boiler! boiler material is not that strong.
support the boiler connection with a pair of pliers while you undo the nut.
Poke in that hole, if you poke through the calcium build up inside the boiler, the boiler will empty its self.
Now try to poke through the pipe towards the levelglass, remove as much calcium you can find.
(or you can undo the whole pipe and put it in decalcifier.)
Im not sure that its calcium that causing all this cos the machine isnt really that old. But is it possible for the ball to flow into the boiler if the levels were too low?

I had it a few times, the ball was stuck just under the rim of the level glass.
If there is water in the level glass, and you only lost the ball, try to shake the machine a little.
open the vac. valve (eddy valve) on top of the level glass and look inside maybe you can see it from there.
if there is no water in the level glass, then its calcium.
as far as I know,The ball can not get in the boiler.
Never found one, and I opened lots of junior boilers
Another question Schaerer, thanks for answering my other questions so far.
My low water level light keeps coming on and it seems that I need to keep "reseting" it by dropping the metal funnel looking bit out and back into the water tank. Is there another way to fix it? What could be causing it?
