Another question Schaerer, thanks for answering my other questions so far.

My low water level light keeps coming on and it seems that I need to keep "reseting" it by dropping the metal funnel looking bit out and back into the water tank. Is there another way to fix it? What could be causing it?
My Faema E98 does that too. I assume thats normal from what Ive read. Ive heard of Cimbali Junior owners disabling the sensor to avoid the problem, but Im not sure how to do that.

      First things first. "on topic"
      Palp, your machine looks great!
I think you are doing a fantastic job, nice pictures also mate.

But you can take apart a jet engine, and put it together again.
So a la cimbali junior is a walk in the park for you.

I am really waiting for the next pictures.

When the machine is ready I like to try a short black or two. (and then a beer or two)

        @ E-gene and Bill,
Yes! That big grey sensor in the computer box of the non plumed versions.
Had some problems with them also.
In Europe I always put a new one in and charged the customer.
But over here there is not so much spare parts available, so I have to take a look at them.

        At the moment all I can say is;
it’s an “air pressure triggered switch”.
If somebody takes the cupper “cup” at the end of the hose out of the tank,
And he holds it up like a normal drinking cup, then some water runs into the switch.
I think that can cause some problems with the sensitivity of the switch.
Maybe the sensitivity is adjustable, or we can take it apart.
I have a look at it tomorrow when I’m in the workshop.

Newest models have feelers now so cimbali thought it was a crappy system also

          Hi Schaerer,

I got my machine brand new. Its always needed resetting once every few days by lifting the "cup" out of the water and lowering back in. Its no big deal, just a minor criticism. Ive never held it upside down like you said, so no water could have ever got in to it. As I said, its behaved that way since new, and has been used less than 6 months. Some of the guys on alt.coffee had found a way to bypass the sensor, but I dont have the details of how they did that. I wouldnt think itd be too difficult to do though.

Do you have any more details of the sensor used in the new Cimbalis? Would it be possible to adapt it to fit?

With regards to holding it up like a cup...haha, I actually did that yesterday and the low level light went off and has not come on since.

Hey guys I just stumbled across this thread. Great restoration there Palpitation - makes mine look positively agricultural (although I think my machine was pretty shot when I got it). Youre obviously in wise hands with all the advice. Ill be asking questions next!

Hi Slowdown, nice to hear from you again. I have used your thread a few times for links. Ill put a few more pics on soon, I am currently finishing off the grouphead and when that is back on it will look a lot different, although I think I have found a crack in one of the braized joints on top of the boiler. I will get a plumber to have a look, but I really dont want to start taking the boiler out again - perhaps it can be re-sweated in-situ.

                      Re: La Cimbali Junior Rebuid

Ive taken out the nut at the top of the water level glass and found the tube to be full of water and the green ball to be right on top.

Im sure that the water level is wrong but how done I "reset" the water level in there so that it will show the correct volume of water in the boiler?

                        Schaerer

Sorry to add to this conversation so long after the fact, hoping you could help me find out the age of my machine.

I have a Junior and want to do a bit of work on it. Posted message below.

                        serial: 382795

tried finding a link on Cimbalis site to check serial, but no luck.

                        Thanks

                        Seb
