thanks for the recommendations ... the niche looks awesome from the reviews, but I don't want to wait, and I'm a bit embarrassed to say aesthetics were important enough that I couldn't go for it.
I ended up going for a eureka mignon Specialita, a little over budget - oops, better to ask for forgiveness than permission right?

grinder for Strega

unfortunately it's difficult to see / trial much where I am, we really have only 1 specialty coffee store here (Darwin) so it's likely to be purchased based on recommendations / reviews.
the eureka looks subtle next to your breville whorl, understated is good at this point (trying not to raise spousal disapproval further)

Always hard to keep in budget with coffee
Single dose i'd recommend the niche, but thats a bit of a stretch. Otherwise have you looked at Eureka/Baratza? In that price range there's a few flat burrs to choose from. Or sette 270wi if you'd like volumetric dosing

grinder for Strega
new poster, long time caffeine junky.
I've just lashed out on a Strega, very excited about the upgrade. I've been using a flair for over a year, and a ROK before that. The flair makes good coffee in my. hands now -- but it's a bit of a saga to make 2 doubles in the morning before work... (well that's my excuse for the upgrade).
anyway - I don't think my breville smart grinder will fit the bill - so I'm looking for a grinder.
any recommendations ? I would like to keep it under $800 (AUS) as I've already blown the "budget"🤣 (like I can stick to one).
thanks
