There are no distributors (that I know of) in Australia so you would buy directly from Bosco.

You buy them direct from the factory. It is easy enough to google "Bosco" and find their website. They ship worldwide.

I do not know what happened to the 4 group.
The 2 group was in CRA's showroom for a while, but was no longer to be seen on my last visit.
    The 1 group is history....

I think this 4 group was the one in Bridge Road Richmond near Punt Rd, I seem to recall it did not last long and often wondered what happened to it

Then there was this astonishing deal, if only I had read the post earlier that day !

I know of three Bosco machines in Australia; mine, the 2 group Sorrento that was a display model at Coffee Roasters Australia (original importers), and a 4 group that was in a Cafe in Melbourne.

I call this machine a 'cold dead hands' heirloom. Boscos rarely pop up for sale and not many are made, especially 1 groups, and as a result the best way to get one is to buy new from the workshop as everyone who already has one is happy with them such that they never want to part with it. I personally saw three Boscos for sale, of which only one was a single group and if I remember correctly was in this forum actually. Another one was in Texas and the third one in the region of Lazio, Italy.

Yes the colouring was very fortunate! It's Murano glass from the 1970's and was purchased at an outdoor market for cheap. Just needed some new wiring and 110V conversion.

It really does feel that way. I guestimate there are 10-15 owners on Home Barista plus maybe some workers and is generally where I have found the most info on Bosco, follwed by the German Forums KaffeeNetz. A sidenote was while I was picking up my Bosco there was a German couple from Lübeck ordering a machine in person. We happen to know a family from Lübeck and the machine would be for a gym.

Drool! Amazing machine, love the orange sides nice art deco colour.

Next machine (or additional one maybe) is going be a quality lever machine, probably not that nice but you never know what turns up. Not much talk about them here on CoffeeSnobs but there is a bit of chatter on HomeBarista.

    Beautiful machine.
Mine is stock standard, with knobs instead of levers for the steam wand and hot water tap.
I have had my Bosco Sorrento for eight years and it has been faultless. Maintenance is a breeze, and Roberta Bosco provides excellent after sales service (rarely needed).

started a topic My 2018 Bosco Sorrento

    My 2018 Bosco Sorrento

I write a little more detail here on this forum since I see my machine being posted here.

I lived in Italy for just over five years, where I got into espresso, and due to that I was able to obtain espresso machines for prices that far undercut those in the US. This included purchasing the Bosco, which I got without paying for distributor and shipping costs, the latter occurring due to my affiliation with the US government as a dependent, which pays for a move. I purchased two machines prior, a La Pavoni Professional and Elektra Micro Casa a Leva that I heavily used in sophomore and junior year in college in New England, and I brought my Bosco senior year. It currently is my main driver at home now and is a delight to use in a covid environment during the workday.

I picked up the machine in person, and if you ever get the chance to visit Italy/Naples I highly recommend to see their location. It is a very small space and is very charming as a small artisan workshop. They are very accomodating in person and while ordering your machine. An example is I requested they sign the boiler and the obliged and also signed the instruction booklet and sent me some Bosco bumper stickers! Bosco machines are very customizable in looks and specs, from the panelling to drain option to PID add-on. You can even order the cup tray on top to be a small bathtub of boiling water to keep your cups warm, which is a common sight in Naples. Little tongs to grab the cups included!

The group is a modified CMA/Astoria lever group. The piston has a 4th seal instead of the traditional 3 and the piston cylinder is modified slightly in an unknown error that results in Boscos never having 'slippage' issues other machines with this group design sometimes have. There is also a handmade decorative cap on top normally made of chromed brass but can be other materials as well. The boiler is plated copper as are the pipes. An autofill device is standard along with a manual fill. There is a small reservoir in the dipper system that is a prestage for the next shot after you pull the current one. This allows the group to be stable and not overheat, and usally you do a warming flush if you need a little higher temperature. You can see it on the boiler picture below right behind the group head.

When moving it I recommend two people as it weighs ~50kg when filled with water.
