I've got Lockdown upgraditis in Melbourne. Currently have 6 year old Rocket Giotto and Macap M4D, OCD distributor, acacia lunar scales, Pesado tamper, and Bean vaults ready for single dosing. Normally make double espresso using large naked PF and later strong latte very day. I have ordered the Lagom P64 for October delivery and seriously want my final upgrade machine - thinking of R Nine one or can someone point me elsewhere??

I feel those feels, I was exactly the same. Had a Rocket Giotto and a Niche (Niche still on backorder). Just got my Linea Mini, bought some Lunar scales, and preordered a Lagom P64Originally posted by johnthepom0 View PostI've got Lockdown upgraditis in Melbourne. R Nine looks like a beautiful machine.

What about a Decent? Does everything a R91 can do and a lot more for half the price. The only thing is you have to order overseas and at the moment you have to wait about 10 weeks due to its popularity. These 2 negatives might be a deal breaker for many. I narrowed my recent choice to the Crem1, R91 and the DE1Pro. I wanted a pressure profiling machine. The DE won simply by its ability to emulate any machine on the market, infinite control of all variables and its abundance of features for a reasonable price. The R91 is a great machine as are most from Rocket. It was my number one for a while.

If you are after looks, consider the La Goretti stable. Very unique, and you would probably be the first to own one in Oz.

Looks great and seems to be well featured, trying to find out if they sell in Oz, info is thin on ground!

Check out their Facebook page for contact details. I think you would be better off contacting them direct, doubt they have a distributor yet. They also have an Instagram page.

I believe Volt Espresso In Auckland New Zealand (used to also in Aus Maybe?) has the La Goretti Apollo in stock. They look great for the price. Similar features and operation to slayer or GS3 from what I can gather. I havent tried out yet but I plan to as im in the market for something like this (not for the looks...I think it's ugly) so when lokdown ends i might be heading to volt headquarters and giving one a try.

Same same, I'm looking to upgrade our Rocket Giotto V3 PID to a shiny new Rocket rotary.Originally posted by johnthepom0 View PostI've got Lockdown upgraditis in Melbourne.
We live in an apartment in Southbank that won't allow any visitors so no chance of advertising it.
Are there any dealers in Melbourne that offer a trade-in service?
Thanks if you can help!

Yes, I'd be tempted into buying a Lever machine: an Izzo Valexia or Alex Leva which you might be able to inspect at sponsor Casa Espresso or elsewhere, covid restrictions willing. The Profitec Pro 800 is also worth a look.
Still, I don't think you can go wrong with the Rocket nine one if you have that amount of folding material burning a hole in your pocket.

I have a slayer. Absolutely love it. A lot of the issues were with the early models. Mine has been faultless and makes me smile every morning.
Considered the R9 and speedster but the looks just weren’t for me.

johnthepom0 Yes, Slayer V1 & V2 had serious issues in the group, brew path and boiler, resulting in an optional 'buy back' offer of V1 & V2 commercial machines; see https://dailycoffeenews.com/2015/08/...de-in-program/ . Only a genuine company would do anything like this. That was a long time ago, now is very different. Have a read of the review in Home Barista. Although I have a Speedster on my kitchen bench, either the Slayer, or R9, would be most welcome bench mates.
