    Thanks for the quick responses.
I do have the tools and basic DIY skills so I'll try what you've suggested. If that doesn't work I'll get it looked at by a (site sponsored) technician.

I agree ludicrous price, you could install a new boiler for that price. The actual probe slides up/down inside a plastic sleeve. If it needs to be replaced it is usually a $50-$60 part and easy to do yourself.

You could try tightening the locknut (the smaller approx 12 mm nut with a spanner). If that doesn't solve it would you could remove (power off and unplugged at the wall) the electrical connector and tighten the larger nut with a socket, just be careful you are more checking it wasn't tightened properly from factory or during a service, if you overtighten you can damage the boiler.

Hi, have you tried nipping up the flange to see if that fixes the leak? Obviously do this when the machine is cold. If this doesn’t work I am sure if you have basic mechanical, D.I.Y skills and tools you will be able to repair the leak. Find a parts schematic breakdown online to see what seal, gasket is required and order from one of the sponsors.
Just remember you are dealing with a pressure vessel and if you are not confident then get it repaired by a tech.
$500 is a ridiculous price to repair it, you should shop around and drop off and pickup yourself.
Have you contacted any of the site sponsors who are near you for a repair price.

  • Profitec Pro 500 - Steam causing moisture on warming tray

Hi guys. I've got an issue with my Profitec I'm hoping someone can help me with.

I noticed recently a small puddle of water appearing on the top of my coffee machine.
When I opened it up I can see a super tiny amount of steam leaking from the boiler level probe on top of the boiler. See pics.
Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it themselves? Coffee Parts sell this replacement part.
The local service centre quoted almost $500 including pick up and drop off!!

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
