I can vouch for the Vesuvius and am glad that Jetblack will sell it. I have had mine for over 6 years now and it hasn't missed a beat. I LOVE ACS machines!

This thread is worth a read-

Good luck with your search, Budgiesmuggler!

It looks even better in the flesh and the gear pump sounds fantastic as it works through the pressure profile. We have one on demo duty and it is well worth a demo for anyone considering a pressure profiling machine.

Agree, I can’t wait for steam if i want it.
Anything else is really your Choice of machinery. Nothing really floats my boat in this range.
It’s more pressure manipulation than profiling imo. A bit limited & possibly not worth the investment

By milkshakes I mean I make milk based coffees

i looked at the Decent. Tbh I don’t really want to have a degree in computer science to make a coffee. Plus not being able to stream and brew at the same time is annoying

    Look at the Decent machine.
It will be imo the best machine for your profiling in your budget.
Anything else will be manual or more expensive

I don’t understand how you make milkshakes with your coffee machine though. As a single boiler the Decent machine may not help you with your milkshake bringing all the boys to the yard, but you could buy a cheap milkshake maker.

Thanks - to answer your Questions:

What is your beverage of preference and your budget?

I only drink espresso. Budget up to $5k.

black coffee only or do you like milk?
Only espresso. But I make milkshakes for the rest of the family. So when I steam milk I steam a lot.

how far down the rabbit hole of profiling would you like to go?
Very keen to go deep. But prefer electric over manual for repeatability.

do you roast your own or purchase from a local quality dealer?
Campos subscription for single origin, supplement with other top quality rosters.

do you understand the basics of pressure profiling?
    Yes.

can you taste the subtle differences the profiling can make in your beverage of choice?
Yes. Really wanting to explore lighter fruity roasts and my current machine just can’t get there.

"there will be another Italian made option with digital pressure profiling that has the JBE staff pretty excited ..."

Is that the new VBM Domobar Super line Charlie?

If you wanted to stick with European made and were happy with manual profiling the Lelit Bianca might suit. You could also get a dual boiler with flow control like the Profitec Pro 600 or 700. But if it has to be digital profiling the short list gets very short. The Italian made Rocket R Nine One, the Crem One 2B R LFPP or, if you can wait til January, there will be another Italian made option with digital pressure profiling that has the JBE staff pretty excited ...

You could have a look at Lelit Bianca or the other E61 with manual profiling option Profitec Pro 700 / 500.

There is a Profitec branded flow control and the Coffee Sensor flow control kit. There are reports of flow profiling working with Expobar Moinore IV, Izzo Alex Duetto, Rocket R58 and ECM Synchronika proper varies on these machines I think line pressure pre-infusion is missing from the Rocket R58.
