  • Lelit Bianca Question

    Hi CS community!

I've had my eye and heart on the Bianca for a while now and before I pull the trigger I would like ask (especially those based in Melbourne) if getting post sales support like servicing is easy?

  • #2
Hi mate I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a Bianca also. I spoke to Jet Black Espresso who are the only official Lelit retailer in Australia listed on the Lelit website. They said they have warranty and service support options in Melbourne on I'm in Melbourne also.

Lofty, JetBlack are great people to deal with and active on the forum. To be fair to everyone else who sells Lelit (and would buy it from JB), that was probably a poor translation on the Lelit website. JB are the only importer for Australia, they are also a retailer. JB sell to other retailers they authorise, who are also authorised. So there is more than one choice of authorised retailer. The Lelit website should have said there is only one authorised importer.

I have dealt with the Victorian agent for JB(for Lelit) and they are good.
However they are on the other side of the city from me and up to 90 minutes travel each way.
I figured that I might as well deal directly with the source and only have one delivery to worry about.
(JB to me, rather than JB to agent to me).
JB were great to deal with.

There are service agents in every capital and most regional areas. If you're not sure where your closest one is contact us.

Also, the next shipment of Lelit Bianca will be with us this week

Thank you everyone for your feedback. Let's see if there are any good deals out there now, so far I think it's just under $4K from what I can tell.

I would vouch for the Lelit Bianca v2. I recently purchased mine just under a month ago from a retailer (who also gets it wholesaled from Jetblack as well).
The main reason I went for it was particularly how much cheaper it worked out to be compared to getting something else in comparison such as an ECM synchronika/Profitec 700 (approx ~$4.3 - 4.5k), since I would have had to factor in an extra ~$400 for the flow control device to play with preinfusions, an additional ~$100 or so for a naked portafilter (comes with the Lelit bianca with a double spout) and a plumb in kit as well.
I grabbed mine for sub $4k as well if that helps, but as just mentioned above, theres plenty of value to be had with the lelit bianca v2 compared to the other big player machines.

Thanks, appreciate your thoughts on this! I'm in no hurry to get mine so just hoping for a deal to pop up.

I'm gonna join this thread because my next upgrade is this Lelit Bianca. It looks so good and with the flow control...mmmmmm
My current setup is Breville Dual Boiler with its silly grinder... NZ coming soon tho in March 2021. Or an Atom 75...I don't know I haven't made up my mind. Flat? Conical?

But yeah, Lelit Bianca is my next aim.

Depends on what type of grind/flavour that you are looking for in all honesty. Flat vs conical burrs is a big and long discussion in itself that has been addressed plenty online in this and other similar forums.
My advice would be to get both, and experiment with each new coffee bean that you get with both grinders and see which you grinder you prefer for that particular bean.
A good starting point though is a flat for lighter-med roasts, and conicals for med-dark roasts

Well, if you haven’t heard from me in the next three months, call the police because my wife may have murdered me because I keep the Atom 75 and the Niche Zero. 🥲

Always better to beg forgiveness rather than plead for permission.
Besides, well caffeinated celibacy never killed anyone.

If I do keep both of them, meaning I’m about $1500 further away from Lelit Bianca 😅. What to do, what to do?

There is no wrong answer, its just what suits you and what would inspire you to make more espresso everyday in my opinion. just my 2 cents from a coffee hobbyist
If I was in your position and definitely needed to choose either the atom 75 or the niche zero, I would choose the niche. Single dosing with little to no retention has been game-changing for my workflow and making the amount of coffee I actually use more efficiently, as opposed to losing a number of beans from purging. I love switching between different beans and trying different grinds to play around with the preinfusions on the bianca, hence why I value the minimal retention. that being said, my more delicious coffees have recently come from a flat burr grinder (an EG-1) with some mucking around with a light roast bean and some length pre infusions.

                    I couldn’t agree more.
To me it does come down to Conical vs Flat Burr and which one is more desirable. The retention on the atom 75 isn’t too bad and also there’s a bellow system.

Well anyway, I’ll get Atom next Monday and NZ sometime in March. I’ll do taste comparison to a few beans and see how it goes.

Hi Machina, any initial impressions on the Atom? Apologies if you've posted this elsewhere

It's fast, it's quiet, and have less than 3gram of retention without bellow. With bellow can be less than 1gram. (so Zero point something). It's an impressive machine.

I've recently purchased one about a month ago via a reseller of JB. While the process to get it fixed is straight forward, the shop is north of Melbourne (a bit out of the way for me) and also the guy on the phone said they would have to take the machine for 2 weeks. Now I need to find a time to get the machine there and pick up as well as go without a machine.

Is it the same with most other machines that the parts are hard to come by?

What is wrong with your machine?

                • #15
Whenever the temperature is set to shuttling about 95, the escape valve just above the drip tray just consistently steams until all the water is gone from the tank while it’s sitting idle.

Turned on the machine to warm up one time and came back 20 minutes later and steam all over the room and all the water in tank gone. Person on phone says temp gauge may be not working.

Ok, did you buy it new, second hand under warrantee or just second hand?
If it is under warranty, just take it to get fixed.
Sure it sucks to be without it for a few weeks but it should be an easy fix when they can get to it.
The sooner you get it in the sooner you get it back.
                Working...
