Well I received the replacement articulation screw from Coffee Parts. They provide excellent quick service. Anyway it fixed the steam leak coming out the side of the tap. Then it leaked out of the steam wand in the closed position. I had previously bought replacement ceramic discs and seals when I first got the machine from Coffee Parts about 10 years ago knowing Gino Rossi had closed down. I then replaced both discs and the Viton seal at the back of the tap and presto it now works as new.

The failure in the articulation screw was that the small screw in the end came out and got lost. Not sure that the purpose of the internals of the articulation screw is other than the obvious pathway to the steam wand. Perhaps it reduces the stress on the ceramic discs when you open the steam valve.

Well I have found the answer to the first of my questions. Discovered a pic of the back of the knob online that made it clear that it should just slide off. Came off pretty easily using screwdrivers either side with blocks of wood as fulcrum pints. Have ordered a replacement articulation screw. Not sure how this functions. Anyway the steam tip was not clogged so not sure what went wrong with the articulation screw internals.

Here are some pics. Pin part No 400107 is also described as an articulation screw Here are some pics of the articulation screw and of the complete unit from an overseas site. It looks as if the knob is just a friction fit but hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can firm that.

    Brasilia Steam Wand repair

One of the steam wands on my old 2 Gp Brasilia Portofino commercial espresso machine is no longer functioning. Mine is the version with the ceramic discs. Here is a link on sponsor Coffee Parts Web page https://www.coffeeparts.com.au/brasi...t-water-valves.

When you open the valve the steam comes out of the end of of what is described as a Pin part No 400107 rather than out of the wand. What I believe may have happened is that the steam tip got clogged and when the valve was opened in the past so sort of pressure relief part inside this part No 400107 gave way. I found what looks like it may be this pressure relief part inside the machine when I inspected. Coffee parts have Pin part No 400107 available for sale at a reasonable price.

Have 2 questions to help me repair this.

    1. Do the plastic knobs just slide off with a bit of help. I would not like to break it by forcing it off.

    2. Can I repair part 400107 or should I just order a replacement?
