Thanks. I have it set at the moment to around 9.75 on the machine pressure gauge with the blind which gives 9bar when brewing with my current grind etc... I'll see how consistent this sits with some new beans tomorrow and then leave it at that!
I'm still interested in what other R58 owners see when running the blind and what that reading comes out as when brewing.
All the best.

Calibrating Rocket R58 brew pressure - 9 or 10bar with the blind?

Well, since you put it like that, the only way you're going to know for sure what the Brew Pressure is adjusted to, is to borrow a Portafilter Pressure Gauge (preferably with a Needle Valve fitted) and set the pressure to exactly where you want it at your preferred pour rate.
With our previous setup, I set the OPV to just crack open at 8.5 Bar which resulted in espresso shots being bang-on 9.0 Bar during the pour...

Thanks Mal, I appreciate that but ‘fine’ will neither help my OCD or get me out of the rabbit hole I’ve gone down..

Calibrating Rocket R58 brew pressure - 9 or 10bar with the blind?
Hi, when calibrating the R58 to achieve 9bar brew pressure when the coffee is dialed in, does one set to 9 or 10bar with a blind filter in? I've seen conflicting information. In Rockets own manual it states to set the pump to 9bar with a blind in, I've also seen that it should be set to 10bar with the blind to achieve 9bar with a correct extraction. Given how many other variables there are I'd like to start with some constant correct! Thanks!
