Hi, I've recently got this 2 group Rancilio from a friend, which needs a bit of TLC. From pictures online I think it's a S20 Midi DE model (label has rubbed off). Apparently it runs, so I probably just do basics, a few seal changes etc to get it usable, but if I get time I might pull it right apart and rebuild. Interested to know if others here have owned/ worked on these units and any tips or quirks to be aware of? Thanks

I have just finished fixing up a single group version of the same model, although I think it is called S27, it has the same colour/design and volumetrics as your machine pictured.
The one I have also looks a bit rough inside but it running link a tractor, very well built.
I ended up;
a) replacing the anti-vac valves which had been leaking for sometime
b) cleaning the shower screen and putting in a new group seal
c) fitted a replacement pressure stat (although in hindsight I think the original was fine)
Only quirk I found was that the pressure gauge was showing incorrect pressure (too high by 1 bar). I thought the machine was going to blow up and that the safety valve wasn't working but turned out the pressure gauge was reading 1 bar too high. I pulled it apart and fiddled until it was sitting on 0 bars when idle, then once put back in the machine went up to 1.5 bar and activated the pressure stat.
Despite not being well looked after this machine has little to no blockages of scale in the pipes.
There is a manual in the doco section here;

Thanks roosterben , great to hear someone's had some experience with this one! Yes they do look a solid machine, decent looking pump in there. Have you found parts readily available - do they use seals etc that are generic/ used on other machines or seem to be specific to this model? Ps looks like my over pressure valve has let go some moisture a few times from the corrosion on top, ...maybe pressostat set too high
