Trying to figure out whats best for me.
My sunbeam has died and I've tried the repairs that dear Noidle has graciously shown throughout the forums, but I just can't justify replacing the PCB and other parts when I dont even know if it will fix it.
Hoping I can get a machine that I won't have to upgrade for a loooong time.
I've got a specialita grinder
My usage
1-2 large latte's a day for myself. I'm not super keen for long heat up times as my wake up time is inconsistent due to children, so I'm not sure how I would get the machine firing up at the right time for morning?
We have people over on weekends, and would be pumping several (6+) coffees back to back, so wan't something that could keep up with it.
Here's how I see the differences between the two machines and how they play out generally.
ECM Technika V Profi PID
Profitec Pro 600
Any information and opinions are welcomed!

- Rotary Pump - benefits are quieter and longer lasting. but more expensive to replace. I can't see myself plumbing it at any point in the near future. I'd be very surprised if I had the opportunity to as we're renting.
- Heat Exchange - It takes a bit longer to heat up, which is a bit annoying, since I have unpredictable wakeup times. Also cooling flushes?
- Joystick steam levers - Whats the general opinion on these vs rotary?
- Metal Tubing - more durable?
Profitec Pro 600
- Vibratory Pump - less life, but also cheaper to replace? Probs wont plumb anyway.
- Double Boiler - Better for pumping out coffees when we are having people over. Can play around with steam temps more easily as I learn to do latte art.
- Gauges lower - visibility?
- silicon tubing - a bit consumable
