  • Improving Steam - Alex Duetto

I've improved steam performance hugely by removing the anti scorch nylon tube inside the Alex duetto.

I've had this machine for over 10 years and although never disappointed, found I got much better results from my old bezzera bz15 HX machine without the tube.

Wrapped with my instant upgrade- just need to be careful with the tip.

I'm thinking about doing the same. I've upgraded from the BDB to the Duetto IV. Struggling to get the milk texture right on the Duetto after the upgrade, but it was perfect on the BDB. How do you do this mod - does the whole tube become hot and you need to add an external silicone sleeve or something to be able to touch it when texturing milk?

I can recommend the mod as Ive run the same on my Rocket for some years now.
The rubber sleeve - OEM from Rancilio - I believe, but either way is available from the likes of Coffee Parts a sponsor here or others, very common part.
No doubt a handy type could seek out various sizes of rubber tube ex motor parts stores or Clarkes etc. Only need 75-100mm or so.

To remove the tube, unscrew the tip and just pull out the tube.

Haven't tried but think it will go back easily.

But I will buy a rubber sleeve as Adventurer suggested.
