ECM Technika V Profi PID - Inconsistent Steam Pressure

I have a Technika IV w/ pstat. Happy to shoot you a video of the wand purge if you wish, but it may not be very useful to you as mine is not PID. I do get a fair bit of water from a purge, and a reasonably large though momentary pressure drop, if not used recently. Approx from 1.3 down to 0.8 on the first purge, as you said. The manual does recommend a long (5s) purge. Hope that helps!

What temperature do you have the controller set at for Steaming?

Bump
Can anyone who owns a ECM Technika help here? I find I almost need to purge for 5 or 6 seconds before I use the steamer nearly every time before I steam milk. If I wait 15 minutes or so after steaming and try again without purging first, the pressure drops to .6 bar and stays around there.

Here is a video of it. The machine had been on for an hour and I had not done an espresso shot prior.

ECM Technika V Profi PID - Inconsistent Steam Pressure
Hi all
I purchased an ECM Technica V Profi w/ PID last week. Great machine however one thing I notice is when I steam milk, the steam pressure seems inconsistent. Sometimes it will drop as low as .6 BAR and remain there until I have finished steaming where as other times it will drop down to .8 BAR then creep back up towards 1 BAR. My understanding from youtube Videos is that it that the later is normal (dropping down to .8 then creeping back up). When it goes down to .6, I find the steam pressure quite low and it takes quite a bit longer to steam milk.
Can anyone who has experience on this machine provide some guidance here? Is this a fault or is it just how the machine is?
Regards
Michael
