This machine is an absolute gun.
I just can't believe how much of an improvement it is in both frothing and coffee extract performance over the Breville.

    Good evening everyone.
I bought the la pavoni. I tried it in the only Sydney store I could find it in.
    The finish was quite lovely.
Ultimately ended up paying $3750 for the machine and got a few things chucked in.
I have to say I'm really grateful to all the support everyone provided me. And Antony despite going local I really appreciated your help. I chose local for purposes of having support near me. But a big thank you for your information.
And to iris. Your wisdom was appreciated.

Also with an ims screen vs bottomless stock portafilter can you enlighten me on the perks of having an ims.
I'm upping my coffee game to this level and hoping for it to be the endgame machine so want to make the most informed decision I can make
    Hi John,

By better build quality its more aesthetics than lasting longer. Panel fit and finish, rounded edges V straight cut, drip tray fit etc are better on the ECM and Izzo over the La Pavoni at this price point.

IMS are a specilaist manufacturer of shower screens and baskets. They give a better distribution of water through the shower screen group head / basket and generally will give you a better yield from your extraction. They can be a little less forgiving on incorrect grind and dose so can take a bit to "dial in" when moving from the stock baskets and screens.
They are a useful upgrade and when looking at a top end dual boiler as you are they they are worthy of consideration.

Feel free to call if i can answer any questions directly

    Cheers

I've had a Breville Smart Grinder, it was my step up from my herb/coffee blade chopper. My first machine was a Delonghi Icona, it was a long time ago lol.

Thanks IrisGanache you've been super helpful. I feel like I'll already have a big upgrade as all I've ever known has been the Breville smart grinder and built in grinder in the oracle

The Synchronika is a better finished machine although feature wise both are very similar.

Also in the mix is the Izzo Alex Duetto, similar in build quality to the ECM and has a Flow Control kit, IMS screen and basket as standard offering at the moment.
