    Re: rotary comparison

    hey greg
    my thoughts exactly
ive seen taller feet used in the states
dont like the look of them really but something like that might be the way to go. possible raising the whole machine a little on some sosme of block is a good idea too.
im thinking i might see if the plumber can hook up a drain kit that can be plugged also (sort of a reversible mod) then we can try out the drain with a horizontal run and see how it goes. then if that fails, ill reverse the drain mod, and sit and think about a solution

    thanks

      Re: rotary comparison

      ok,

so heres some shots of my NEW setup.
      i am V happy.
plumbing was not so simple - took an experienced plumber 3 hours, therefore, the moral of my story is that its not ALWAYS as straight forward as one would assume to plumb in a machine.

still need to work out drainage to complete the setup.

waiting on my cofeelabs tamper so not pulling the greatest shots at the moment. steam is huge. the silver side panels aint actually as bad as i thought they would be. i wanted black but silver was the go.

anyway ill post some more once my tamper arrives and i can start pulling something decent.

thanks goes to chris at talk coffee for making this all so easy and smooth. twas a pleasure

When youre up and running maybe we should have a spro down...hahaha

I just finished putting together my Brugnetti. Ready to make some espresso....just need to get my Compak K10 back...dont think the Rocky will do. My machine towers over the rocky.

So what water filter cartridge did you end up using?

                  spro down def in order

sweet that youre done rebuilding your little baby
hows bout some pics of your setup?

filter atm is the basic one they sent with the machine - not a carbon filter. ill leave it for now but change the filter maybe in six or so months, then ill prob look at water hardness and softening

Congrats on the new kit Roknee and Im glad that youre happy and that all is well with your machine.

For those thinking of a rotary pump Vivaldi II, there is one left in Australia with new stocks quite some months (6+?) away and they will be dramatically more expensive.

Drop me a line if interested...

Youll be okay for now. South East Water quotes their water hardness at 15 to 20 mg/L which is really soft.

Photo coming when I get my Compak K10 WBC back. Its out on loan. Right now I have a doserless Rocky which is my black brew coffee grinder...hahaha

                        Wow, really?

We really suck in Brisbane at 100 mg/L

                          http://www.sewl.com.au/solutionsfor/residents/waterquality/Pages/Commonproblems.aspx

The typical hardness level of water delivered in South East Waters area is between 12.5 - 13.5mg/l. This means that the water being supplied to South East Water customers is considered "soft" by international standards - it is easy for soap to lather and the water feels soft to touch.
                          100 mg/L is still good.

                            Re: rotary comparison

purchased some rubber feet that are double the length of the standard feet. well see how they go in terms of allowing a nice slope for the hose beneath the drip tray.

                              progress!
                              1. getting taller 8cm spaz feet with 10mm thread, will have an engineer rethread to 6mm and slap em under her.
                              2. got my drain hose hooked up today. 19mm reinforced hose, elbow and plumbers tape, drilled hole into drip tray, added some silicon tubing to the underside of the hole to fit INTO the elbow, clamped the hose to the base of the machine with rivets, drain hose out the splashback down into an external drain. i needed the drip tray to be removable to access the internals and also for an occasional clean up.
no leaks at all, until i drew HEAPS of hot water from the hot water spigot, then some overflow, but for normal operating conditions, it is simply leak free and im a happier camper.
