Re: Avanti Sleek Coffee Plunger Replacement Mesh
Sorry, have not checked the forum for some time.
The mesh is smaller than a pin shaft.
There are 20 holes per 10mm, so an aperture plus wire size of .5mm. My best guess is a 2-2.5 to 1 ratio of aperture to wire so the wire is about 0.15mm in diameter and the aperture is about 0.35mm.
Thanks for the mesh offer but I would not want to trouble you with such things.

Re: Avanti Sleek Coffee Plunger Replacement Mesh
Im afraid not - this one is thinner than the standard ones. I could try cutting up a mesh from something else but I think I have chucked all the old ones out.Originally posted by 7E667C617D7A776C61670E0 link=1253012250/1#1 date=1253015825would the mesh from another 2 cup plunger fit if youve kept one of the others?
Sigh. I think this is what I may have to resort to. So long as its food grade and fine I should be good; but, I have to admit Im not looking forward to trying to get it into the correct shape.Originally posted by 446F786F7E6667626B0E0 link=1253012250/2#2 date=1253079817Stainless Steel mesh is typically available at larger hardware stores in various screen sizes and wire thicknesses.

Avanti Sleek Coffee Plunger Replacement Mesh
I have been using an Avanti Sleek coffee plunger for some time now and absolutely love it.
I originally bought it because I had just broken (another) glass on a bodum one and there was nothing else in the store; but, have since found its indestructible construction and twin wall stainless design fabulous.
The problem is that with such an indestructible body, and particularly because it is rough stainless on the inside, the mesh is now wearing out.
Does anyone have any idea of where I can get a replacement mesh for a 2 cup/250ml (I think) Avanti Sleek plunger? Or where I can get a mesh blank that can be cut out + how to form it?
Not holding my breath on this one but surely someone else must have run into the same problem. And it seems such a waste to replace the whole thing when the rest of it will probably last another 10 years.Tags: None
