we have a very large 10 cup coffee syphon.. you could double the coffee and add hot water to the concentrate.

All you need to make a cold brew is a large jar.
Also a filter of some kind. I like paper filters for cold brew as it ends up with a clean flavour and still seems to avoid the paper taste that hot brews get.

You do have enough time to make 5 Litres of cold brew concentrate.

Of course I realize now that the evilbay has them <$100 as a 12-30 Cup Automatic Coffee Urn...

However keep in mind that the beverage produced in this machine will probably not be as good as it would be from a French press or espresso machine as it is still percolator coffee. But with freshly ground beans it would be a vast improvement on instant? ;D

Not sure how big your plunger is but mine serves about 4-5 people at a stretch it might take a while to brew and reload each time.

I think your best bet would be to call the staff who run the retreat as they most likely have some sort of coffee brewing system there?

You may find that all you need to bring may be the beans and a grinder

A coffee urn would be ideal as they often have a minimum 20-25 cup capacity, however its really important to switch it off as soon as the brewing cycle ends and remove the grinds basket as soon as its safe to do so else the resulting liquid will taste overboiled or burnt

A 36 cup capacity one of those though will set you back around $325 which I would expect to be much more than you would want to pay for a one off unless the company is interested :s

    Good Luck!

Hi all, got a small problem. Next week we have a staff retreat for work. I have been designated the "coffee bared". There will be about 20 ppl there.

What would be best to use?? Was thinking my grinder, fresh beans and a plunger??
