  • portaspresso is sensitive?

    Hi all,

I have read at several places that the portaspresso is well capable of producing fantastic espresso cups but that it is difficult to operate, at least during the first few weeks of use. In other words, the portaspresso seems (so some users say) quite sensitive to pressure and timing. I was wondering why other devices (eg. Caravel) that work according to the same basic principles (eg. gravity fed lever - hot water at given temperature pushed through finely ground coffee) are much more forgiving.

    thanks!
    Alex.

    Hi Alex,

Which Portaspresso are you talking about? There are two main models now, the Rossa HC and the Air Espresso.

There are other threads about the portaspresso devices. Have you watched the videos on youtube?

I am talking about the Rossa HC - I just don't get it when I read that it can produce great espresso but it is very hard to do so? I was looking for an explanation, if there is one. I have read posts by several users who got very frustrated at the device.

Where are the posts where it says it is very hard? Why don't you ask in those threads?
