Hi Barry, I think a new machine for my wife may be a little too ambitious, a good secondhand machine would be fair.....oops now I'm in trouble!

Are you trading the wife in on a new coffee machine?Originally posted by yabba View PostHi Greg,
thanks for your response.
I suspected it would be as you described however I lived in hope. Almost isn't close enough when it comes to espresso so the wife has to go.
Cheers

G'Day Yabba,
I love your sense of humour...
I agree 100% with Greg. If you are non-compromising on quality, then look at the portaspresso offerings. I don't have any myself but the reviews seem to be very good - and If I had the spare cash, I definitely would have one. I am a strong advocate of the manual espresso methods.
Good luck

IMO the Presso is "almost espresso". I certainly wouldn't consider it to be a replacement for a machine that delivers water at the proper temperature and pressure.
I use mine at work where the option is a pod machine, french press, or instant. It beats all those, and many of the local cafés.

Presso = ???
Hi fellow CS's,
Firstly I'm sure this question has been asked but I couldn't find an answer from my searching.
I am after the opinion from people that have used the Presso and what level of machine or style of coffee they would compare it to. I am trying to reduce my coffee "footprint" in the kitchen to keep SWMBO happy. I am currently running a Simonelli Oscar and a Doge 63 grinder but have a spare 6910.
My options
I am about to buy a K3P and I could return to using my 6910 if the presso isn't as good as an Oscar or 6910 or I could use the 6910 for texturing milk and get a presso as well? Or the other option is to sell everything, divorce the wife and get a GS/3. Considering that I'm still fond of the wife I think I will work with the first options.
Before people point out that the Oscar isn't that much larger than the 6910 (which is correct) the Oscar cup heater works so much better that it overheats the overhanging cupboards so the 6910 can be tucked away in a corner where the Oscar is taking prime position in the Kitchen.
Opinions??
On second thoughts the GS/3 is very nice...... mmmm the dilemma.
