  • New cold brew - Cold Bruer on kickstarter

    G'day CSers

Stumbled on this while browsing Kickstarter - a neatly contained, adjustable cold brew system called the Cold Bruer

I don't think I can list the links so you have to search?

Price is appealing compared to the Hario setups

An interesting system that would be interesting to try. I think they need to make a cover for it though. Make it from the silicone used elsewhere in the Bruer and design it to seal against the inside with a raised handle in the middle both to grab and to clear the drip rate adjusting shaft when/if used in the upper chamber. It should fit both the upper and lower chamber. While it may only get used in the upper chamber for storage it will be used all the time in the lower one when storing the brew in the fridge.

They'll have to be careful of their price point once it hits retail. Competition is starting to heat up in this area.

just asked the developers re lid... they're currently seeing if one is feasible and dont want to compromise on quality of the lid if they do roll it out.... fingers crossed they do! =) also... just curious if anyone is bulk shipping these things... would'nt mind saving a couple bucks on shipping...

I'm all for them not compromising on quality. However. I think they'll loose a lot of sales if there's no lid for at least the bottom chamber.

I just backed this project, pretty excited to do Cold Drip at work :-)

They posted an update 3 days ago, they're prototyping a lid after all the feedback:

We have had a lot of people ask if there will be a lid for Cold Bruer. Yes, we are currently in the prototyping stage, and are working on a couple different designs to see what will work best. We will share more about this as soon as we get samples back!

It bodes well for them that they're listening to and acting upon peoples suggestions.

I've backed them as well. Timing will be perfect for our summer. Will love to see some reviews and set ups when we receive it.

they've posted an update which includes a pretty nifty lid on the system =) also doubles as an airtight seal on the main vessel.
excited to see them for real!

New update again, this time detailing that the majority of the glass has been manufactured.

Fingers crossed we'll be able to make cold drip while it's still summer!

Has anyone heard when they are likely t be shipped. I missed out on the order through Kickstarter, but ordered on the web site. Haven't heard any likely shipping date but Kickstarter backers may hear first.

Yes, sounds like a great price point at USD55. Will be ordering one on their web-site too but do not think they can ship in Feb with the Chinese New Year holidays.
