      Dear bruer-users,
How have you found it so far?
What's the flavor like, is it practical to use/clean?
      Cheers

It's my first attempt at cold drip, I've done full immersion before (nothing fancy, pint glass, let it sit for 12 hours).

I've done about 4 cold drips, it's really easy, taste is very smooth. Not hard to clean at all.

Only frustrating thing, it starts fogging up making it hard to see the drip rate.

        Really impressed so far!

I opened mine last night and put on a brew using a dark roast SO on espresso grind. As expected the result is a little bitter and overwhelming. I found my hand grinder this morning and have done another brew with a courser grind, same bean though. I expect a little less bitterness but I think the bean used for cold drip needs to be a lighter roast that I typically use for espresso.
I'm not a huge fan of the ice+water method so I will also try just chilled water and doing the brew in the fridge.

Anyone have any bean recommendations for cold brew?

Light roast all the way for these. Fruitier beans can often do really well. A sidamo for example.

Over summer, a team effort with a buddy ended in with the following:
            • Sidamo pulled a few deg before 2nd crack became a cold drip table centerpiece
            • Tiramisu made with same sidamo (via aeropress) and Absolute Salted Caramel vodka in place of the usual marsala (I normally hate flavoured vodka, but this was terrific!). Sadly, I don't think it can be purchased on Oz.
            • Cool sidamo cold drip and the tiramisu. A few had a shot of the vodka as well to wash it all down..
            • Yum!

You can also do the brew at room temp.

Brewed a few batches but I've got issues trying to get it to drip slower. My brew is usually done in about 5 hours. Anyone else has this issue?

Yup i have the same problem. I put about 60g of beans in ground at a bit finer than filter coffee(tried a super coarse espresso and found it too bitter) in with around 550-600ml of water(no ice). I use my tamper to flatten out the grinds. The first drops from the coffee grinds appear at around the hour mark and finished in 4-5. I tried setting it to a drop every two seconds to no real help.

The last brew i tried i also found it stopped mid way through and had to constantly watch and readjust (hard when the chamber fogs up).

What I found tends to happen is that when the volume of water changes, the drip rate changes as well so it feels like I constantly have to have my eye on it.

Had a similar train of thought. Good to hear it's not just mine. Would love to know if anyone has managed a brew time of above 10 hours.

                          Bruer cold brew system

Anyone tried this before? Looks interesting. It's quite pricey but not as expensive as Yama for example.

I got mine to 12 hours over the weekend.

I've been using no ice to make it easier to monitor, at room temp.

Checked the drip rate every few hours and ended up speeding up for the last hour so I could put the finished product in the fridge before going to bed.

Probably could have stretched it to 15 hours.

First time I've ever been able to do that though.

Apparently it's now generally available, picked mine up yesterday.

Does what it says on the box First batch was pretty successful but I need to tweak my grind a bit, the valve is a novel design but a bit twitchy.

At this price point it's pretty much unbeatable.
