hey guys - this is my first comment on the forum (so be nice). I'm thinking of getting a bruer to make some cold brew and would like to get a pretty decent grinder for the job. I'd also like it to do a good espresso grind in case i make the investment to getting an espresso machine. My current preference is a vario doserless. I would appreciate any advice! Cheers

It sure is beatableOriginally posted by jbrewster View PostAt this price point it's pretty much unbeatable.
check out the Australian invention Brewover on Kickstarter that is currently running. There is another thread about it if you want to know more. This has the functions of the Bruer but with a large cone for pourovers and a solid valve. Several CS' ers including myself have pledged for it already. Very affordable

I just purchased a Smart Grinder Pro for pourovers and i must say for its price it performs very well. I love the functions it has. Although I still prefer my Eureka for espresso, but its not bad at that either.Originally posted by Al View PostPreiam I was going through the same decisions when I was looking for a new grinder and I ended up buying a Breville Smart Grinder. I have not regretted it at all, check the thread in the grinder section for way more info.

Have done a couple of brews in the bruer and it is a nice but of kit. The large glass pieces make handling and washing it a careful process, I am weary of breaking the glass.
Does make a nice brew and is great to use.

A good little conical burr grinder for filter coffee is the Baratza encore, $175 brand new. Light weight and grinds straight into a container so you can switch it on and walk away till its done. I've been using mine for a little while now and it works a treat. Not good for espresso though, purely for filter or cold drip. The grinder on the right obviously.Originally posted by gonzo89 View PostI just purchased a Smart Grinder Pro for pourovers and i must say for its price it performs very well. How does the Baratza compare to the big Mazzer (is that a Kony, SJ or Robur?) I've got a Kony E but not happy with it for filter...also wondering about getting a Feldgrind or Hausgrind or Lido II/IIIOriginally posted by dans1982 View PostA good little conical burr grinder for filter coffee is the Baratza encore, $175 brand new.
