Good effort. It finally explains why my stainless Carmencita can hold its own to most espresso machines, although I had to preheat the water to 58 Celsius to nail it. It took me years to get it consistently up to scratch, as I was used to a La Cimbali commercial machine at work and uni and wanted the same result at home using the same model Major(?) grinder. Then I got richer and went to a La Pav 2 group because it was easier and I could get crema. I still use the Carmencita for car camping trips (Hario then Pharos grinders) and still have a queue wanting a coffee out of it when I camp.
I have got to get one of those valves!
