Hi all, thought I might voice some appreciation regarding the nanopresso.
I have been using it for about 3 months now and I am pulling amazing shots. This little unit really is a game changer in the land of mobile coffee toys!
Some advice for those looking to buy.
1. Don't grind super fine and then pack the container after tamping super hard...chances are you'll blow the seal and you won't pull a straight forward clean shot.
2. Clean the seal on the portafilter...basically pull the round seal off and wash the filter and seal so that it creates a strong seal when pushing through a shot. Do this after every 3 shots or so.
3. Get a barista kit. I tend to do short doubles however for some reason the barista kit takes this coffee toy to the next level. Maybe it's because of better pressure build up via the larger tank.
4. Pump hot water through the nanopresso with an empty container after in order to clean the portafilter.
Happy pumping!

Here is my workflow: Currently only using the single basket as my wife only takes about 12ml espresso in the morning.
1. Turn on kettle, dump the portafilter and baskets into the coffee cup, fill coffee cup, nanopresso tank and nanopresso pump with hot water
2. Grind beans, tamp into basket(s)
3. Pump water through nanopresso, discard and replace with more hot water
4. Assemble Nanopresso, place microwave milk frother into microwave
5. Pull shot, replace basket, pull second shot
6. Froth milk and pour
7. Cleanup.
For 1 coffee the process takes about 7 minutes. For two probably closer to 10
Noticeable improvement in taste by just preheating the coffee cups, portafilter and baskets

I have had my replacement Nanopresso for 6 weeks. My first the handpump didn't return.
The replacement builds up pressure in the chamber for a very long time but only delivers a small amount of espresso.
I feel there is none or almost no air getting back into the tank.
advice would be greatly appreciated

My nanopresso only gets used when we go camping without power, which is only once, maybe twice a year, so not much use. I don't spend a lot of time on trying to achieve perfection, as its just an alternative to instant, and it doesn't have to be that great to be a big improvement there. There are 2 coffee drinkers in the family (my wife and I) so making the drinks was a bit fiddly using grounds, so yesterday I bought a nespresso pod adapter for it. now I have until easter to find a compatible pod that i'm happy with the flavour of. Should be a bit less messy and user friendly in the confines of the camper van.
