    Hi,

    Have just spotted all this…

My Bacchi has also suffered with time and in part, seemingly in the same fashion as your husbands machine…

I managed to find a local machinist to put the base plate on his lathe and true it once more.

That fixed that problem, but there have been others… great idea, but….

So, I am wondering what became of the failed machines, as I could use broken ones for parts…?

(I'll also vote for the Rossa, particularly with a gauge.. better shot control…)

Fair enough, I've just made sure that mine has sufficient water and lubricate the seals with Inox and it's done exceptionally well, but I could just be lucky. Do you use it on a gas hob or something else? If you ever want to sell the old ones for parts PM me.

The Rossa PG Air will make excellent shots every time. Highly recommended. If you have the grinder all you need are beans and a boiling jug.
Better shots, easier and more reliable than the Bacchi. I have both so speaking from experience.
There is a Rossa HC for sale on CS at the moment which is an absolute bargain and it will also make excellent shots once you are familiar with it. I cannot believe it was not snapped up in the 1st hour

I have to say it looks pretty impressive. I'll look more into it and hopefully make a purchase.

Sorry i didn't answer about price as I'm not really sure. Similar to the bacchi or possibly a bit more.

My husband loves his single origin double espressos which are so hard to find in the cafes near us so where to from here? I don't drink coffee but i know he loves the process of the bacchi and i've no idea what to look for that may last a little longer but produce good results. We already have a grinder.

    Thanks
What is it that is actually failing on the Bacchi? I'm interested as I only use mine when I go away.

the flair espresso lever machine is cheap, easy to use and clean, and pulls amazing shots. i mostly drink filter, but every now and then i want a single origin shot.

No milk is ever used in the making of his coffee

Entertaining isn't really necessary so it's really only for him.
