I should get one of these for at work in the forest. Young Kiwis create world's first portable espresso machine - NZ Herald

Wwwwowza... it sounds incredible, and that's a ridiculously low price if it works as says... they say it's really easy to use but I honestly can't fathom how it could be and how it's actually designed as it's all in one! Very intrigued...

Check out this one: "Bonaverde Coffee Changers"

Take everything you've heard about coffee roasting best practices and throw them out the window. In the name of convenience we will roast your beans in 3-4min and brew them immediately.

Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world according to that article. Good grief.

They must be counting each bean one by one.

If that standard was applied across all commodity crops coffee would probably be even further down the list!! Lol. So who knows what they’re on about Samuel.

Holy moly, haven't heard of that one, that's incredible... obviously not optimal but look, massive points for trying ay. I admire anyone who gives that a go and tries to evolve or even branch off with coffee practices, and that will absolutely suit a lot of people I'd imagine.

In re coffee being the second most traded commodity in the world, from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee#Commodity_market:

Dating to the 1970s, coffee has been incorrectly described by many, including historian Mark Pendergrast, as the world's "second most legally traded commodity". Instead, "coffee was the second most valuable commodity exported by developing countries," from 1970 to circa 2000. This fact was derived from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Commodity Yearbooks which show "Third World" commodity exports by value in the period 1970–1998 as being in order of crude oil in first place, coffee in second, followed by sugar, cotton, and others. Coffee continues to be an important commodity export for developing countries, but more recent figures are not readily available due to the shifting and politicized nature of the category "developing country".
So where does it rank? A lot of that depends on exactly what is you are measuring. In a report issued by the World Bank in 2000 in 1996-1997 coffee came in at 15th place in value of production and 5th for the export trade value. An analysis reported in 2015 by the Coffee Co-Mission came to the conclusion that Coffee is #111 in value and #119 in quantity.

Indeed Java. There’s actually even a little bit more to it than that, but that’s a very good summary. The Coffee Co Mission report from 2015 would have to be the most applicable for today’s market.
