  • Atmos Cold Drip on Indiegogo

    Hi All,

Some friends of mine have launched a new home cold drip system on Indiegogo, which I thought some on here might be interested in - I notice there's now a sticky dedicated to cold brew!

    Atmos Coffee

While only small batches can be done (~250ml or 8.5fl oz) you don't need to constantly adjust the water rate as the grind size automatically does this for you through an air lock. You literally just fill it with coffee, attach the bottles and flip it, then wait. The air lock also means the coffee isn't exposed to the air during the process, which helps it from going stale.

Anyway, if you're keen sign up - It's a fixed goal so no items will be shipped unless it reaches it's target. It also means you get your money back if it doesn't reach the target.

Disclaimer While I know the people launching this product, I am not making anything from talking about it. I want to get it funded for two reasons - 1) to support my friends and 2) So that the goal is met and I can get one. Just felt I should put that out there as I haven't been around this forum for a while.

Anyway, hope some of you like it enough to get behind it.

    Cheers

    Dan

It's not cheap! Even at the early bird price it's more expensive than the Cold Bruer and the Brew Over and only makes 250ml at a time. It'd want to produce the goods!

That is true, however it has only 4 parts, and the main brew chamber is designed to last longer than us!

The main appeal for me is the simplicity - once i have my grind right it takes all of 1 minute to grind, tamp and assemble, so doing it every day isn't too big a deal.

It may also be small enough to fit in the fridge, which may appeal to some.

        It is also delicious

Does it come with lids for the bottles? I would have thought it would be handy to seal the bottle when full before putting it in the fridge.

Yes it does. Apparently they're not shown as they are still being finalised.

Another day, another "innovative" coffee maker.

Amazing new products seem to have a very short life in the coffee industry.

Yep I'm a cynic, I've seen more than a few of these gimmicks bite the dust over the years.

Really? What about the aeropress? Or the Bruer? Or the wacaco products? Having tasted the cold drip it produces, I can assure you it's no gimmick.

Anyways, they still need support to reach their goal. They have some reviews from a few websites, so if you're not sure have a read

So many people love the process and routine of food prep, including coffee. I don't. I just want the end product. That's why I currently only use plunger for hot and immersion (not pour-over immersion, dunk the coffee behind filter in water style) for cold brew. I've been eyeing the Bruer for a simple and not stupidly expensive cold-drip system (but I've heard a few complaints, especially the amount of coffee required each time). This looks even simpler, less that can go wrong.

I generally only want it on weekends so the small capacities should be fine for me. Glad I decided to do a rare visit to these forums.

Campaign has been extended for a month so of you get any Christmas money and are keen you should still have time

                          They're finalising manufacture:
                          Atmos

Making sure everything is as good as it can be. Unfortunately it's taking longer than expected.

                          Cheers

Ahh, cool. I hadn't seen those updates. Was only seeing the emails and there hasn't been one in quite a while. Might have to try to find ways to get notifications for these updates.

Indiegogo requires that they have monthly updates to show they're still working on it, and to minimise supporter frustrations. Not sure if you can ask indiegogo to email you about each update, but of you check it once a month you should keep up to date.
