    Highly recommend, I have one I picked up from Alterative Brewing and they work a treat.

    Will be back to making cold brews for my avo coffees at work.

    A bit fiddly to set drip rate initially but once you get used to it makes good cold brew.

      Hey, would you recommend the puckpuck over a stand alone cold drip like the Bruer?

        Aeropress add-on...

        How much do you need to brew? They're pretty much on par 450ml for the Puck Puck vs up to 600 ml for the Bruer.

        If you accept that they both do an affective cold brew then the price differential becomes a major factor.

        Do you have an Aeropress already? If so, only the Puck Puck adaptor is needed. Approx $40 vs well over $100 for the Bruer. You also have the multi-use offered by the Puck Puck vs the single use nature of the Bruer.

        I found the Puck Puck simple to use once you get past the initial lack of familiarity.

          I would recommend the Hario Mizudashi cold brew jug. It's $30-40, stand alone jug. One batch makes approx. 1L. I put 80g of coffee to approx 1100ml water and leave it in the fridge for 20hrs. I used to do it on my Breville BCG820 at factory inner burr setting and main setting of 50. I now do it on my Niche Zero at 40-50 depending on the coffee.

            Another which may be the same jug as Hario one above is is T2 jug-a-lot small. They are easy to find second hand as heaps of tea buy for iced tea and never use.

              The only real difference between the T2 jug and the Hario is that the Hario is easier to clean because the bottom of the coffee holder part is removable, giving you a straight through path to rinse the grounds out. I've never used our T2 jug for coffee but it can be quite painful getting the last of the tea leaves out.

                We have one of these too...
                So easy to use, clean and re-use again and again.
                Makes a great cold brew into the bargain as well...

                  Morning Mal, you guys have piqued my interest, thinking of buying a Hario Cold Brew Pot, do you reckon the Mazzer Mini will grind coarse enough for this method of extraction?

                      You don't actually need to grind all that coarse to be honest.
                      Have found that a grind slightly finer than that used for Drip Coffee works best for us.
                      Makes for a lovely rich brew with loads of flavour, sweetness with no bitterness at all...

                          As a matter of interest Mal, what type of beans and roast level are you using for cold brew.

                          The Hario has arrived, and am experimenting with it, have made up one batch with some Monsoon Malabar I roasted for espresso, it was OK, nothing to write home about.

                            It works best with darker roasts, chocolate bomb or Italian style. If it's ok but not great I would suggest grinding finer. I found if you keep going finer until you get overextracted bitterness, then back off by about 10% that seems to be the sweet spot.

                              Yep, that's what we do too...

                              Found that the recommended fineness (filter) was still a little too coarse and under-extracted. Just kept inching finer until the results were lovely and tasty. For your info Yelta, the latest roast batch we used (and the best so far) was 400g PNG Goroka, 200g Ethiopia Biftu Gesha and 150g India Madikeri Robusta. The Robusta was roasted about two weeks prior to the Arabica and then blended prior to bagging it all up. Loads of flavour and enough punch to have you grabbing for another one straight after the first.

                              With the Hario unit, we use about 60% more coffee than indicated in the manual. Makes for a lovely rich brew...
