Hi
I just bought a second-hand Gaggia Deluxe from a fellow CSer. It had been sitting around for some months unused, so I thought I should run a few tanks of water through before pulling any shots.
What Ive found is that the water is coming out very slightly cloudy... if I collect it in a pyrex jug and leave it to settle I can see some very fine white powdery residue on the bottom. This is still the case after 3 tanks of water.
Im going to get some cafetto descaler because Ive read that Gaggias scale up a bit, but what Im wondering is whether the residue might be corroded aluminium... and if so, what I should do about it? I dont want to drink aluminium :-/
Cheers
Alex
