    The only place I would go from the 6910 is straight to a HX machine.

    If you choose teh Venus or Silvia or any other single boiler dual purpose machine, you wont have the ability to steam milk at the same time as pouring your shot. This is perhaps the greatest difference you should consider.

    It would seem that the silvia wouldnt be much of an upgrade from the 6910.  From most reviews I have seen the 6910 is 9 tenths what the silvia is.  I reckon if I was upgrading my equipment I would want it to be more worthwhile than that.

    Thus if you have you EM6910 down pat and a good grinder....

    AND you have become use to Steaming and Pouring and making a couple of coffee in a row...

    Then the next step; must meet and or exceed what your currently doing and have become use to..

    See some sponsors, get some hands on and then make your call... We all have our little likes and dislikes and they may not be in perfect alignment with your wants/needs/expectations..

    If you dont, then you can bet the Post Purchase Blues may well set in and the new machine could get a bagging..

    Just my 2 cents worth... Besides... Visiting sponsors and drinking FREE coffee as they do their best for you, is not to be sneezed at.

    I have the 6910 at home and a (albeit much cheaper) single boiler machine at the shop for the morning and afternoon coffee fix. I will concur that going from the 6910 to a single boiler machine is a pain in the arse. It seems to take an age making a shot, letting the machine get up to temp and steam milk, then rinse and repeat for the 2nd cup (I dont split the double but could which would speed it up a bit).

    The Ikon doesnt have the oomph of the Silvia (or I suspect the Venus) but when it is ready to steam, it steams like a banshee with very good quality milk, i would suspect that either the Silvia or Venus would only be an improvement in that area.

Perhaps the Isomac venus is better as the boiler is larger. Check the classifieds on here. The Expobar is an HX machine and would be a nice upgrade for you if the Venus doesnt cut the mustard. I reckon it would be hard to go to a dual purpose boiler after being able to steam and brew on the 6910./\/

    Haari;

    Venus is a single boiler machine, enclose some spaecifications.
    http://www.dibartoli.com.au/product_details.asp?pid=52

    Is a very nice little machine, the main difference is their looks, polish steel as a body, 400ml boiler, two hole nozzel on the steam arm, dual gauge etc.

    Any questions happy to help, we are Isomac resellers and service agent in NSW.

    I would be looking at an HX for your next choice
