AM,
Dosing level doesnt explain why it locks in differently even when empty; I checked that already.
funnily enough, I have two PF, one naked one normal (clothed?) and they both lock in at different spots, always have. I think one is from the original EM6900 and perhaps the lugs site slightly lower/higher?
Sorry... Did not see that bit of extra info :-)
I have found that Cold Vs Warm/hot it will lock in slightly differently and if it is WET Vs a Dry seal / PF...
Lugs and different PF have an impact as well... One PF I have sits up an extra 1mm..
Keep looking I am sure you will track it down :-) Thats what my wife always says to me...

I suspect the rubber is starting to perish and will probably go very britle sometime soon.
Na... The Silicon ones suffer as per TGs comments below.
Those ones dont go brittle; Ive only known them to eventually split (though one of mine actually lost a small chunk once instead).
Have seen them start to go all goeey and sticky as well.

Its really odd that one day it will lock in at 6 and other days 5 or even 4:30 ish.
DOSING LEVEL :-)
The new EM5900 do not have stepped lugs either... They are tapered like all other good machines... Got a dremil into my SB Naked and now it works on my SB and my new Junior:-)

Theres an attach file option when you reply. Just click browse and find it. If you preview the post, then you have to re-attach the file before posting.

No good Stan. Hope it gets sorted. Mines been ok lately until tonight when the PF threatened to come undone and explode over me. Lucky I had a quick hand and saved the shot (was a pretty darn good pour too).
Do you mind posting the diagram SB sent you? It might be helpful in future for someone else.
Sent an email to sunbeam and they very helpfully sent me a diagram on how to fit the seal. I politely told them I knew how to fit the seal and have now decided to take it in before the warranty runs out in 2 weeks.
Mine has been doing that and spitting o9ut the side. I replaced the group head seal and am still having the same trouble. I think it may be a work collar. >
Am wondering if anyone has come across this before. My machine is roughly 9-10 months old and recently has been showing signs of a worn group seal. Generally the PF locks in around 4:30-5 oclock. When pulling a shot I dont see any signs of leakage.
Ive noticed however over the past week that this has worked its way back to 6 and now 6:30! When I got the machine new, it would lock in dead center at 6.
Ive taken off the shower head, removed the group seal and inspected it. There are some signs of a very small split, but in general it looks ok, though feels firmer than I remember it.
Any ideas? Has anyone come across this before? I suspect the rubber is starting to perish and will probably go very britle sometime soon.
